We settled here for camping after our original plans fell through and I couldn't be happier. We were at site 6 in this cool screened in hut that we set our tents up inside. The staff working at the front were incredible. I believe their names were John, Cam, and Josh. They were so great to chat with, made sure there was fresh coffee every day to grab when we went by the front. They recommended local fishing and activities and were super friendly. The area surrounding the campsite was amazing as well; the area (fishing pond, river, and swimming pond) seems to have taken some recent storm/flood damage but definitely will be nice to see in the future when it's sorted out. Early in the season so we didn't see too many other people and we had an absolute blast with the space to ourselves. The day we left, the weather was really nice and we saw a lot of bikers and hikers walking through as we were packing up the cars. We managed to pull our vehicles right up to the campsite which helped for tossing our food in the car when we slept. The first night we were in we saw a moose walking right by as well! Second night we got to see the northern lights a bit in the sky due to the solar storm. Overall, super happy with the campsite and we will definitely be back in the future.
My dog and I stayed at the campsite for two nights. All facilities are well-maintained: the restrooms and dishwashing spots were super clean, park rangers regularly checked the sites for safety, and other campers were respectful of others. Thanks for the amazing experiences!
We enjoyed our two day camping stay. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hiking trails are beautiful and well maintained. Anytime we can explore a park built by the CCC so long ago is an honor. We will be back.
Very cute, quiet, and with easy access to great trails within walking distance. Town is close by and its a short drive to hit many mountains. The staff was friendly and super accommodating. We had a stream running by the campsite, which added to the beauty and peacefulness. The showers and bathers were clean, and there are numerous water fill stations, we had one 100 feet from our site. I will be visiting again.
As our first camping experience, we were pleasantly satisfied with our stay here. The bathrooms and showers were incredibly clean, staff were so friendly and helpful, neighboring campers were respectful and kind, and the trails and scenery were gorgeous. Our campsite was perfect for a tent, and the amenities like the fire pit and picnic table were well kept. There is so much to do not only on camp grounds, but around the area too! We are definitely coming back because of how friendly the staff are, and how gorgeous the campgrounds were. Highly recommend for first time campers!
