Beautiful campground with close access to Rialto beach. Great hiking close by. Visited Hoh Rainforest from here. Sites are small so check measurements to be sure you can fit if traveling by RV. Dump station additional fee. Ranger station on site, it was not open during our stay and no host.
Was a nice campground. Except for the campers that had an issue with babies crying in the night and turn us in. Then the host mention we were loud and to put the babies in our cars. But it was okay for car alarms going off at night and the campers having fires….guess if you got kids that get up and cry at night, you better not stay next to the liberal, granola, tree hugging hippies there.
This is a great campground IF (BIG IF) you come prepared for the cold and wet. Mora is very close to the coast, gets around 100" of rain/mist per year, and is completely covered by gorgeous trees. It is extremely beautiful, but VERY cold and wet and your clothes and linens will never fully dry, even in the summer months. We went early August during a fire ban and it was rough, I'll be honest. Bring wool layers, use a propane fire ring (yes they are allowed during fire bans), bring a warm winter coat, hand warmers, whatever you need to stay warm! It is incredible the temp difference between Mora and Forks. The good news is Mora is very close to La Push and Rialto and centrally located on the coast so there is so much to do within an hour or two. Forks has coffee, camping supplies, restaurants, and a gym where you can get a hot shower and is just a 15-20 min drive away. Beautiful campground with exceptionally clean restrooms and great potable water. Would return with proper gear and ideally not during a fire ban! 🥶🥶🥶
Had a disappointing experience at Mora Campground. The staff there are incredibly rude and seem to hate their jobs. From the moment we arrived, it felt like they were scolding us for no reason. The campsite itself is just mediocre, but the unwelcoming atmosphere created by the staff made it worse. To top it off, the male janitor was even using the female bathroom, which is just plain disrespectful. It honestly felt like they wish no one would visit. We definitely won’t be coming back, and I’d recommend looking for a friendlier place to camp!
Mora Campground is a beautiful place to stay and very convenient to Rialto beach. It is surrounded by lush forest and ferns. There are nice bathrooms with flush toilets and sinks, and nearby, there are water spigots, information boards, and dumpsters. There are no showers at this campground. The ranger station is at the entrance to the campground. A ranger is available there during certain hours which are posted. There are no RV hook ups or electricity, and the sites are only sized for smaller RV's. There is a dump station at the entrance to the campground. Expect frequent rain. Temperatures are cold. We were there in June, and night temps dropped to the low 40's. Daytime temps are chilly also- only got into the 60's. All campsites are in shade almost 100% so will feel chillier than if you drive somewhere without tree cover. The sites have a good apron of packed gravel, in addition to a deep tree needle layer under the trees so mud isn't an issue. There is a campfire ring with adjustable grate and a big concrete picnic table at each site. The concrete benches are very cold to sit on so you might want to bring something to cover them! Firewood is for sale at many little sites along the road leading to the campground at $5/bundle, but not at the campground itself. The bathrooms were clean and only the men's room ran out of TP while we were there, and then only for one evening. It got restocked the next day. The campground does not provide hand soap, so bring your own to the bathroom. Almost all the campsites we saw were on the smaller side. If you have more than 1 tent, you might be crowded. Our site (loop A, site 2) happened to be bigger. We saw chipmunks, little squirrels, rabbits, and lots of birds at the campground. You're supposed to keep food locked up in your vehicle- probably a good idea. Birds can peck open plastic bags if you leave them out. Campsite was generally quiet. I would definitely stay there again.
