Lovely little place along the Salmon River just north of Salmon, Idaho. Quiet except for river and bird sounds. Highway noises are a distance away. Nice trail running south along the river and bordering wetlands. Bald eagles, Sandhills cranes, and miscellaneous raptors in the area.
We stopped here to sleep on our way to Glacier NP. It was easy to find but off the main road and quiet. Very clean campsites with fire pits and trash cans. We drove around the campsite before we left, all the sites were camper trailer friendly and had grassy areas for tents.
We had a potluck at the pavilion today. It was very nice, quiet and had 5 tables and bbq grill to use with water and bathrooms close.
Great little campground, but the mosquitoes were terrible! Chased us inside the camper! Gravel camper sites and grass tent sites available. Boat launch in the campground. No hook-ups. Potable water available by the main picnic shelter. Camp host on site. $5 night, $2 for extra vehicle. This spot would be a 5 star if there was some mosquito abatement done.
Great camping place and easy access to the river. Some mosquitoes, which is to be expected. Easy in and out and good distance from Salmon. Water is not great, bring your own.
Pretty basic campground. Hard to get a spot on the water but ok. Camphosts never came around to clean or put out the fire left burning by a previous camper! Also, they let there dog run loose. Not good as far as camphosts go.
