Last minute I couldn’t find a place to reserve for memorial weekend, everything was booked ! I found this place on google and couldn’t get in contact with the office or any place to reserve. I was able to find out that they had first come first serve tent camping spots so by faith we made our way there. The gps directions were accurate very easy place to find. Upon arrival was a nice man on a kart he said hello. Made my way to office and came to find out that they ONLY ACCEPT CASH. (The good thing was they had spots available ) went to get cash 9 miles away to Foresthill. The staff was nice not sure why the mean reviews but anyway, you will see lots of geese poop everywhere, i wished O had taken a rake or something to clean my spot. I also saw lots of dogs, so not sure why the reviews say they are not pet friendly. The lake was glorious! Not many people in it probably was to cold the sites are really close to one another so you will hear and see everything your neighbor has or does, which I think is normal at a campsite. We were able to walk a trail all around the lake it’s a nice hike probably took like an hr (wasn’t checking the time much) the restrooms were stinky, but again you are not at home , so don’t expect clean smelling restrooms. I heard loud snoring at night across from our tents but overall I give this place 5 stars ! Will definitely be going back LORD WILLING.

A pretty nice campground overall with a lake and minimal amenities. Each campsite has a fire pit, grill, and picnic table. There are water spigots spaced out to be shared by a few sites. Lakefront and pull-through sites cost a little more. There are also two group campsites at the back. The campground is near OHV trails, but motorcycles/ATVs cannot be ridden within the campground and must be towed or pushed out, so that keeps the campground quieter. The dump station and showers were blocked off, but there are latrine style toilets. For RVs needing a dump station, there is one near Sugar Pine reservoir. The lake was enjoyed by many people in boats, kayaks, floaties, and paddle boards on the hot days. You can fish too, but that is an extra fee. They also sell day use passes for people who want to stop by and enjoy the lake but not stay overnight to camp.

This place is a wonderful place to go camping with your family or friends. Of course, you have to book ahead of time to get a site that you like. I recommend coming here at least a month in advance to look over the sites and book them. Card is not accepted to reserve, only cash or check. (The check has to be a cashiers check.) We took site 14 for our trip. It was awesome that we didn't have anyone next to us (site 15) because they would have been to close to us. One negative is that dogs are NOT allowed near the beaches and water. Aside from this, the water is very good. It is warmer than other campgrounds that I've been to. Even though there is some grass and plants in some parts of the water, i still enjoyed taking a swim. The bathrooms are nice because they are not like those bad portable potties. Campfires are not portable, they cannot be moved.

We came out here previously, and enjoyed our stay with really nice lake. They must have changed the camp hosts/management it was terrible experience to say the least. Spoke with other campsite neighbors around, they had similar terrible experience with the people managing the place, especially charging $50/night you would expect them to be at least nice. Not coming back until they get new crew in.

This is the worst campground in the State. The management is absolutely terrible. From the start, the reservation and check in process are inconsistent and time consuming. All campers are required to fill out forms at check in before heading to their sites. Never bring a pet here. You are required to pay $8 per day and a $25 deposit that they will find a way to keep. They kept our deposit for sitting at another friend’s campsite with our dog on a leash. If your dog is not on the main camp road or in your site you lose your deposit and they monitor you closely the whole time. The shower and dump station are broken and permanently closed. The bathrooms are not pumped out regularly or maintained. There were full of flys, and could be smelled well before you reached them. The noise requirements are strict for campers but the host uses their generator during quiet hours. There are signs everywhere to keep out, no dog allowed, etc. The sites are very narrow and close together. The campground was only 1/2 full on a week in July 2024. You have been warned. Never camp here.
