First off, you can't beat the view. Drinking your morning coffee looking out at the Pacific Ocean never gets old. Most of the spots have great views thanks to the "theater" style rows where each row is lower creating a theater seating effect. Just make sure you try to get a spot near the ends as the bathroom/shower facility is in the center and blocks views from the upper row. Speaking of getting a spot, this place is very popular so you will need to get on the reserve California site right when the sites come available or someone else will snatch the sites. Most of the sites will require a little leveling left to right. We were in site 5 and had to level about 4". Not a huge deal but something to be aware of. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept. Only negative is they have a sink but no soap or towels/hand dryer so we would just wash our hands back at the RV. They showers were also clean but very basic. There were no temperature controls but the water temp was fine. They only operate on tokens which were available to purchase through a kiosk. It accepts credit cards so it was super easy. 2 tokens for $1 was decent since 2 tokens got you 4 minutes. Two minor gripes that knocked off a star. First, all of our confirmation paperwork said we could check in anytime after 2:00 pm. We showed up at 2:30 only to be turned away because check in was now 3:00. When I said our paperwork said 2:00, I was told yeah, we know, it is wrong. They would not let us stay on the property until 3:00 so we had to find a place to go for 30 minutes. Second, our spot was a "premium hookup" spot, which we assumed would be full hookup. Turns out, none of the spots have sewer. Shame on us for assuming "premium" would have sewer. Overall, it is a very relaxing and beautiful campground.
One of a kind Campground where every single site has an awesome view of the coast/ocean. Nicely kept facility(clean restrooms/shower). Great hiking trail and beach access.
1st time staying there this week and absolutely loved it. It is one of the newest and nicest parks I have camped at. The place is so well planned out with diagonal spots that make pulling in and out so easy. The bathrooms and facilities are maintained and sparkling clean. The free Wi-Fi was a welcome bonus. I love the tiers as each level has a view of the ocean. The sites are deep with plenty of room from your neighbors. The sunsets every night were amazing. Bring your propane fire pit as other campers have written. The beach is so amazing. The cove to the south is my favorite. The tunnel to the beach can get flooded, but the water is shallow to walk through. I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves. I can't wait to go back. **update 6/14 Just got back from another trip here. This has to be the best campsite in SoCal. **update 8/27 Can't wait to go back here. Amazing park **update 6/13/24 always a great time here. **update 7/21/24. Back again and loving it! The ants are crazy during summer!!! Any crumb left out they will find. Bring your DE to put around your tires and don't leave food open! I was lazy and had a huge ant infestation today!
Nice location overlooking the ocean. The PCH runs between the campground and the beach. There is a steep, paved path that takes you down to a tunnel that goes under the PCH to access the beach. When I was there the tunnel was said to be out of commission due to flooding but it was minimal and I was able to get to the beach with dry feet. The beach is large and flat. The campsites tend to be long but narrow with a relatively small marked area for vehicles. You have to back in if you have an RV so you may not get a good view from inside even though all sites appear to have a decent view of the ocean. There is a nice dirt path around the perimeter of the campground and numerous benches at locations with the best ocean view. The restrooms were adequate and showers require paid tokens. The sites do not appear to be very level. Cell signals were fine and even though broadcast TV appears to be far away I was able to get many channels with my removable TV antenna aimed to the NNW. The location is relatively dark at night. There is traffic noise but it's not bad.
