Promotional Information and Customer Feedback:
According to customer reviews, Mossy Hammock Primitive Campsite offers a pleasant and relatively private camping experience. Visitors appreciate the short hiking access and the beautiful, shaded campsites. The open prairie views are also a highlight. However, some visitors have noted that the campsite's proximity to the park boundary can lead to animal noises, and noise from nearby residential areas can occasionally disrupt the sense of being in the "wild." Despite these minor drawbacks, the campsite is considered a favorite among those who enjoy primitive camping in Florida.
If you're seeking a secluded and natural camping experience with relatively easy hiking access, Mossy Hammock Primitive Campsite is an excellent choice. Contact Myakka River State Park at (941) 361-6511 or +1 941-361-6511 for more information and to plan your primitive camping adventure.

3 campsites close to each other but not so close you lose all privacy. A short walk and you can see the openness of the prairie. Shortest hike of all the primitive campsites at Myakka. Close to the boundary of the park, so we did get woken up by cows and donkeys making noises for a good while.
Nice, short hike of about 3 miles to get to. Site is beautifully shaded by a ton of huge, old trees. Plenty of space between the three campsites. The only downside is that noise from the residential area nearby can carry over, breaking the illusion of being out in the 'wild'. Other than that, it's one of mu favorite campsites in Florida.
