We arrived late on a rainy night. We asked if the area was safe. The desk attendant reassured us that the facility was well lit with cameras. We had our dog so she put us in the back near a grassy area. The whole back of the facility is secure with a key card gate. The room was very nice and clean. Everything was well supplied and we had a comfortable bed. Overall, a good stop and stay for the night. Shower pressure was excellent. Costco is right next door.
My fiance and I made a last minute valentines day trip to Humboldt to see the beach with our two year old and seven month old, we ended up staying at motel 6 because it was the cheapest. (expecting it to be typical motel 6) when we were cleaning up the room to check out I found two pieces of an obvious meth pipe with residue on it and a cc cough and cold medicine pill. Needless to say I was mad because my two year old could have easily picked up and ate the medicine or touched the narcotics that could potentially have fentynal residue as well. The manager refused to refund our stay. Giving us only half off. If you have young children I highly recommend spending a little extra money to stay in a better hotel.
Honestly I’m not a huge fan of motel 6 at any given place. However I had to and I can say with a doubt it was better than what I thought. Room was super clean, I checked for bed bugs and didn’t see any at all. No mold. Price for a queen size bed for just a night with no deposit 107$.
We stayed overnight and reserved a handicap room. While the bathroom was large and everything was clean you almost had to go outside, or in the bathroom to change your mind. The room was extremely cramped. And the bathroom floor was extremely slippery once it got wet.
For a motel, it is clean. 3 stars at best due to lack of particular amenities such as no coffee maker, no hair dryer and no iron for clothes. You get what you paid for. It's disappointing that we end up in a room way at the back when checked in earlier than most guest. If you end up on this motel, insist on a room facing the highway or front of the hotel. We don't feel safe on a room facing the back.
