Motel 6 Fort Bragg, CA

Good: The check-in staff was cool and helpful. It was easy to connect my laptop to their older TV, and the internet speed was good. The price seemed reasonable—at first. Bad: We rented two rooms, and both seemed like they hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. There was old hair in the bed and bathroom. The desks and floors were noticeably dirty, reflecting a general lack of cleanliness. Both rooms had an unpleasant smell, like smoke or something unpleasant. Additionally, the pool was closed, despite still being advertised as available. However, considering the state of the rooms, I’m almost relieved it wasn’t open. I’ve stayed in other low-cost, non-chain motels in Fort Bragg, and they were all better than this one. I’m not particularly picky about hotels, but this stay had far too many issues. I honestly can’t understand how this place has so many 5-star reviews. Who in their right mind would consider this a 5-star experience?

Reina at the front desk provided exceptional service! Even though my room didn’t work out, she went above and beyond to make things right with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help. She turned a frustrating situation into a positive experience with her kindness and efficiency. Thank you, Reina, for your outstanding hospitality!

January 2025: I was a bit of a brat when I first got here because the exterior needs a little love, and the pictures online were not the best. But the manager/front desk gal was amazingly kind and let me look at a room before committing to our reservation. They are in the process of renovating and their newly renovated rooms are clean, the mattresses and sheets are all new and clean, and the shower was clean. Definitely much much better in person especially for the price!

I was pleased with motel 6! The room was nice, spacious and smelled good, the bed was comfy and sheets were clean! The bathroom is basic but it had fantastic water pressure and hot water! For a motel and the price this place was wonderful I was happy with it! Robert at the front desk was very friendly and helpful when I checked in late after midnight. Cynthia helped me check out and was very helpful as well! The location is also nice right off the highway and near Safeway, and walking distance to town and the beach.

The rooms are old and dingy. The towels would have been better served to cut up for rags. Way overpriced! The desk people were very nice.
