Motel 6 Visalia, CA

Stayed in room 221, the room was decently clean for a hotel, no smelly bathroom or any signs of bedbugs or roaches, did a thorough check of the room, around the bed and under the bed. FYI when staying in a hotel I always bring my own sheets and blankets and remove the sheets they have just in case, noticed tons of reviews stating roaches were a problem but not with our stay, also thee only hotel who took my expired ID with my temporary paperwork until I get my valid ID, all in all, I am pleased with the room and the stay!! Don't always believe reviews even if they all seem horrible!!!

We're no stranger to cheap motels, but this is not a safe place to stay the night. Unfortunately, the rooms are infested with roaches. (Check out the other reviews to the same effect). The staff were clearly aware of this when we raised it with them. We did not stay the night, however the staff member on shift refused to refund us as it is their "policy". Again, the staff are aware of an ongoing roach infestation, but do not offer refunds should you decide to stay elsewhere due to the roaches. Fortunately we have a family lawyer on permanent retainer & should be able to force the motel to refund us, however most people would have no chance. There are several better motels & hotels in town. The Holday Inn just down the road is one of the best. It costs a little more, but breakfast is included & the rooms are immaculate.

The staff are great, from front desk to the maintenance staff, all very friendly and willing to help. We did have an issue with our toilet, nothing major but it did need to be serviced which they did promptly. The lot was well lit at night and no one was there that didn't belong. Even though the rooms face the 198, it's far enough away and rooms insulated well enough you don't notice. They have DirectTV, a fridge and microwave. The place looks like they just updated it. No hint of smoke in the non-smoking rooms. All in all it was a very good stay.

Check in at this location was very awkward. I booked with Expedia and thought everything was taken care of. At check in they required a $60 cash deposit. They stressed to make sure to pick it up in the morning and to not forget. In the morning they gave us the deposit back after checking the room, I am guessing for damage. The bathroom had a horrible smell and there were also cockroaches. Forgot to mention that the TV turns off by itself. Would not recommend to anyone.

I was looking forward to this hotel because other motel 6 that i been to always have been cleaned. I made a reservation for 3 nights and my 2nd night there i found a cockroach in my room. I called front desk and they tell me "we never have them on this side of the building only on the left side" which is by the 100 area since I was in 200 section. If you're aware you have roaches Atleast do something about it. We got a new room and the sheets had pieces of hair everywhere. The room they moved me to had a box of car litter infront of my door for the past 3 days. Just disappointed.
