I cannot say what I felt after reaching the summit. You can only feel it when you experience it. I’ve been here and I’ve experienced it Mission accomplished ✅ Tool road: Well maintained Trek/trail path: Moderate level. View: 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
We drove up the toll road, parked at the visitor center, and then hiked up to the top of Mt Mansfield, and all had an awesome time! The hike out and back is about 3 miles, the toll for 3 was $65, and the drive up to the visitor center parking lot is around 4 miles. It was very windy, but we got a clear day, and the views were incredible. It feels like you're on top of the world looking down from Mt Mansfield! It was also cool to see all of the trails we've skied so many times in the winter during the summer. Overall, this is a highly recommended experience.
Moderate hike from the visitor center to the summit, please make sure to bring sunscreen and plenty of water if visiting on a warm day. There is no shade on the mountain, so it can get pretty hot. We took our dog with us and she was struggling with the heat, but we made it due to giving her lots of breaks.
Such an incredible hike- challenging and exhausting but totally worth it. The summit is breathtaking. You think you are at the top, but realize you have a longer hike ahead of you- although it is a slight slope for the last of it. We took the harder more vertical hike up to the top, then did the ridge/rim trail behind the mountain on the way down, so we got to see the most of the mountain on this whole-day hike. Bing tons of water and snack, and don't forget a hat and a sweatshirt- it gets breezy at the top!
Best mountain and is the highest in Vermont. Very nice view all way around especially of the Lake Champlain. Good hiking shoes and some hiking experience recommended.
