Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA Holiday

This place truly exceeds expectations in every way! From the moment you arrive, the staff is incredibly helpful—escorting you to your site and making sure everything is in order. They even go the extra mile by picking up trash bags from the side of the road, which makes things feel so much more convenient. If you ever have a question or need assistance, just flag them down—they're always cruising around and ready to help, which is a huge plus! On top of that, they keep you in the loop by texting you daily updates about the free activities the Rec Hall has to offer, ensuring you don’t miss out on anything. I can’t recommend this place enough—it’s the perfect spot for a relaxed, enjoyable stay. Five stars all the way!

We stayed here the week after Christmas. Standard KOA campground. Pretty lake but we did not have a view of it. Very few sites have view of the lake. Friends stayed in a cabin, no kitchen, no utensils, just a microwave and dorm fridge. They borrowed out coffee pot. Excellent communication from employees via text. Lots of activities for kids. Kept campground clean. My biggest complaint has nothing to do with the campground. Many residents did not clean up after their pets and there is lots of goose poop everywhere. You really have to watch where you walk. Definitely need a flashlight at night. Did not note many or any campers living in the campground. Right off of hwy 17, about 30 minutes to downtown Charleston.

What a wonderful experience! We absolutely loved our stay here. Jackie does a phenomenal job keeping this place top notch. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. We loved the nature trail and saw all kinds of wildlife on our walk. They have all the amenities you would need for your family and the best part of all, they have the best Halloween decor. We will definitely stay here again!

We have been frequent guests at this KOA. We really loved bringing our young kids here for quick tent camping adventures. The tent sites were right on the pond, the staff were super friendly, and there were plenty of fun activities for the kids. This was a real gem. But this KOA seems to have jumped the shark. They replaced the nice tent sites with RV-only sites along the pond, and they moved the tents back to an area where the sites get to look at the backyards of RVs. The sites are more expensive than they used to be, and are smaller with a 4 person maximum limit. Because of this limit, you would need to book 2 sites for a family of 5. But beware! Due to "policy", if you make a temporary reservation more than a month in advance but then look at the sites and determine they won't work for you, you will be charged a cancellation fee for each site you booked even if the sites were really part of one reservation. This place has lost its local, neighborly atmosphere and, unfortunately, we won't be staying here anymore.

Let me begin by saying that the website and email communications dealing with the rules and regulations about dog breeds is VERY CLEAR. Our stay at your premium buddy site made us feel like we were at the Taj Mahal. We had a dining area that would seat 8 comfortably, Adirondack chairs and loungers around a fire ring and cushioned seating for 4 around a fire table. The campground was very clean and the landscaping well maintained. We loved their tasteful Christmas decor and added more at our site. The campground staff we encountered were courteous, friendly, helpful and happy. We will DEFINITELY be back again with our grandchildren in tow. Thank you for being our hosts!!
