Absolutely incredible park! I bought tickets in advance to visit the park which was definitely must needed given how busy it is. I went at the end of August so it was still really busy. I arrived around 9am and already had a hard time parking and had to park in the overflow parking lot down the road which was about a ten minute walk up to the information centre. There are numerous trails to hike but I would recommend the skyline trail. It is the most popular and busy but for good reason. The views are incredible throughout the entire walk. I took the paved way to start which was quite steep walking up but throughout the entire walk you are looking up at Rainer so the view is quite incredible and I would definitely recommend going this way to start. The park is known for its wild flowers, however most of them are gone by August with only a couple sparse flowers around in the fields, however the rest of the fields were still great. The trail took over 5 hours and at times felt strenuous so I would allow lots of time to take breaks and rest along the way. If you are anywhere near the area Mount Rainer is a can’t miss and I would recommend the Skyline Trail.
Amazing National Park! Experience various hikes, snow shoes, climbs and waterfalls in every season. Truly an outdoor persons dream. From Sunrise to Paradise, pick your adventure! Lots of information at the visitor center. Enjoy and stay safe!
Stunning Retreat Our visit to Mount Rainier was absolutely unforgettable. The towering, snow-capped peak surrounded by lush forests and colorful wildflowers was breathtaking. We explored the Paradise area, which offered stunning views and trails for every skill level. The Skyline Trail stood out with its sweeping vistas and close-up views of the glaciers. The crisp mountain air and the soothing sounds of nearby streams made every step feel rejuvenating. We were lucky to have clear skies, which made for postcard-perfect scenery. Wildlife was abundant; we spotted marmots, deer, and even a black bear from a safe distance. Reflection Lake was another highlight — the still water perfectly mirrored the mountain, creating a serene and picture-perfect moment. For those who prefer less strenuous activities, the scenic drives through the park were equally rewarding, with plenty of viewpoints to stop and soak in the beauty. We also enjoyed a peaceful picnic amidst the picturesque surroundings. Mount Rainier offers a wonderful mix of adventure and tranquility, whether you’re hiking, sightseeing, or simply unwinding in nature. It’s a must-visit destination, and we’re already looking forward to our next trip to explore more of its incredible landscape
I was so excited to finally see Mount Rainier and I had to say I just want to come back every season to admire the beauty and change of scenery, you have so many wonderful places inside the park like Sunrise, Reflexion Lakes and Paradise. Get there early to avoid crowds in general at the entrance and parking lots. Be aware on summer time you may need reservation!
Mount Rainier National Park is nothing short of breathtaking! The towering peak of Mount Rainier, covered in snow, dominates the skyline and creates a sense of awe. We explored lush forests, stunning waterfalls, and vibrant wildflower meadows. The Reflection Lakes were a highlight, offering mirror-like views of the mountain—an absolute dream for photos. Hiking trails like Skyline Trail gave us incredible panoramic vistas, making the effort well worth it. Fun fact: Mount Rainier is an active stratovolcano and the highest peak in the Cascade Range. The park is also home to over 25 glaciers. The only downside? The popularity of the park means some areas can feel crowded, especially during peak season. Still, it’s a magical place that leaves a lasting impression.
