Mount Shasta City KOA Holiday

came here as a solo traveler in my camper van. this was the perfect first stop to rest because it's so reliable and close to town. also felt very safe here with all the young families here. the real win was the staff - extremely friendly and generous. tim, the manager, was especially kind and helpful when i needed some help in my camper. watched one of the staff members happily clean the bathrooms as well. great energy from the people who work here and take care of the property. it does not go unnoticed! thank you and will be back again

Love this location. Facilities are nice and clean. Great service, store has everything you may need. Camped in a tent site and wasn’t busy so had no neighbors near by. RV section was full. Looks like a fun place for families & kids. It’s tucked back off the main road. Tent sites Were a dry dusty dirt so I’ll bring a tarp to go under my tent next time. Went hiking to Mount Shasta one day, filled up water from city park spring head. Walked around downtown and ate at Sparkys which has great food/drinks. The store Soul Connection is pretty awesome too.

I booked this KOA one room cabin instead of staying in a hotel for the night. It was was great because my 2 boys could have separate bed They loved the cabin and bunk beds. The staff when I checked in was not that nice or informative, he just gave me an envelope. The staff at checkout were super nice and helpful. My only real complaint is that there is only 1 set of restrooms and they were kind of far. Oh and the train goes by in the middle of the night and the campgroun is very close to the railroad tracks. It went by 2 or 3 times.

Beautiful scenic location right near Mount Shasta. Lovely family-friendly environment. Stores are nearby, but are not within walking distance. Pros: Family friendly location: there were a lot of families with children so my kids had so much fun making new friends. Friendly staff: staff was super friendly and was willing to go above and beyond in customer service. They were swamped with calls and I was super patient you could tell the young girl at the front desk was overwhelmed, but she kept her cool and handled everything very well. Friendly campers: so many other campers were welcoming and inviting. Scenic area: Mount Shasta was nearby and the nature filled area was gorgeous! Recommended Improvements: Pool is not heated and is ice cold. There was a lot of debris, dead bugs, and mosquitos. (Friendly Suggestion: more frequent maintenance on the pool). The main entrance to the location was narrow and there were protruding trees on the side of the driveway entrance.

the camp place was pretty good, the playground was nice and the community center too, but there were a lot of flies and yellow jackets that would swarm all over the tables when you just tried to sit there and especially eat food. pool was also down for maintenence that they already knew ahead of time, and nobody knew that. the employees had no idea that it was just regular maintenance and just said it was broken, and there was nothing on the website or anything that said it was under maintenance, so when we were looking forward to the pool we found out it was closed for the time we were here, about 2 nights. the camp ground was good and the staff were friendly, just wish the communication was better.
