Awful experience— our neighbors ran a super loud generator almost the entire time we were here, even past quiet hours. It was an old generator so extra loud. They kept it one site but then ran a long extension cord to the site where they were staying. At one point after quiet hours started, I went over to ask them to turn it off. I noticed no one was at the site (for almost an hour) but a big fire was left unattended. I also noticed they were running the generator to power a window ac unit they had zipped into their tent. They were making the entire campground circle suffer with their noise to power an old ac unit that they were using for their tent. In a campground where electric sites are an option, loud generators should not be allowed Definitely considered at multiple times over the long holiday weekend to just pack up and leave. When I talked to the ranger about this, he suggested I leave if I wasn’t happy. His response shocked me. Where was I going to go? I had booked ahead and paid for my campsite— in my 40 years of camping I had never had such a bizarre experience

Stayed a few days here. We roughed it on the bare bones tent section. Beware if you're looking at site C017. The first Pic is the website listing. The second, well, that's what you don't see. The entire site was a steep, loose gravel hill that was little more than a water wash out. The other sites in the C section had leveled out pads and stairs. I really wish the website was more forthcoming about what you're actually getting. The bathrooms were OK. Showers were hot and I did see at least the women's bathroom cleaned once during the 4 nights we were there. My husband, however, dealt with a dirty men's bathroom. Apparently someone had left a poo on the toilet that was left for days. There was tissue refuse left all over the floor and wadded up and stuck to the mirrors. Left something to be desired for sure. The park seems to be ran by volunteers based on the "office" you pass as you first enter so we didn't see any "staff" our whole stay. Really, the area is very pretty and the grounds were quiet. It's just a shame about the site we booked ahead of time and the bathroom situation.

I had reservations for 20 days and they were made for a tent! My site was no way meant for a tent. I have never left negative feedback before but this place I have no choice. And this is not my first time camping, been doing it 7 years. Pictures of the tent and site speak volumes. I tried re-staking my tent 6 times to no avail, the rocks were too big, there was no place level except for where I had it and 2 huge ruts from campers, concrete block ripped out of the ground and 2ft rusted re-bar sticking out I fell over 2x’s. The worst part tearing down my tent, I always place tarp between the ground and tent (seen) all the water above me washed down under my tent and I had to wash the underside before packing, my $48 tarp I had to throw out! I tried to clean it and it smelled of sewage! It became contaminated and couldn’t be saved. The $$ I spent on the campsite and just being on SSA. Never being offered another site, after me telling them it was not meant for a tent! And they knew I couldn’t put it in the grass because it was nothing but hills, ruts, rocks and high un maintained grounds. Mowed 1x in 20 days! I should be given 1/2 refund! Horrible experience. Especially when it would rain and you smell sewage I assumed it was the septic system but even after several days of no rain I could still smell sewage. I discovered when I tore down my tent to pack up my tent was sitting in sewage.

This was a great trip! The lake was beautiful and calm. Caught tons of fish (bluegill and channel catfish). The C spots are more primitive and not so closely packed like the others. There is a place nearby to buy firewood and fish bait which was convenient. Cellphone service was great with Verizon. Shower house was clean, nice hot water. Can’t wait to go back.

My father camped here in cabins when he was 8 years old! Now I have been camping here for 2 years. I love camping here. Everyone is so friendly and campground is family oriented and safe. Water is emerald green and there is a lot of sunshine to enjoy! Cypress trees are one of a kind and give a beautiful ambience to shores. Truly a special treasure of Kentucky on Nolin Lake. Thank you volunteers for all you do to keep this beautiful place open for all to enjoy, especially those on a budget he cannot afford to rent a vacation house!! This place awesome 😎👍!

Campgrounds are closed. Only expensive rental properties available. Moutardier Resort across road is ..... it's a PASS for me. We will keep moving to find somewhere else to stay the night.

First weekend open and there wasn't anyone there to operate the entry shack. They left and hadn't returned.
