Mowhinna Creek Campground Introduce

Located at 515 Fulford-Ganges Rd on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Mowhinna Creek Campground falls under the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. Reviews present a contrasting view of this camping destination.

Environment: The campground's location on Salt Spring Island suggests a potentially scenic natural environment. One reviewer specifically mentioned wanting to explore Salt Spring Island and being happy with their choice to stay here for winter camping.

Services & Features: One review praised the hosts, Sandy and Ian, as amazing and incredibly responsive. This reviewer, who stayed during the off-season in a motorhome, found the campground to be "SUPER clean" and well-maintained, suggesting a labor of love by the owners. However, another review details a very negative experience regarding booking. This review claims that an unmentioned age policy (requiring at least one 18-year-old to book) was communicated only one day before their trip, leading to a cancellation of their reservation after three weeks of having it booked. The reviewer also reported difficulty in obtaining a refund and felt the situation was handled rudely, ultimately ruining their spring break camping trip as no alternative bookings could be secured on short notice. This suggests potential issues with booking policies and communication.

Promotional Information: Mowhinna Creek Campground offers a location on Salt Spring Island with at least one guest reporting very clean facilities and friendly, responsive hosts, particularly during the off-season. However, potential guests should be aware of a significant negative review detailing issues with uncommunicated age restrictions, last-minute booking cancellations, and perceived poor customer service. It is advisable to inquire about all booking policies, including any age restrictions, at the time of reservation to avoid potential disappointment and travel disruptions. These guys utterly betrayed us didn’t happen to mention any age politics on their websites then decided it was a good idea to call one day before our trip after three weeks of having booked the site and inform us of a policy they never mentioned that prevented our stay there then agreed to add this policy to their website soon but still cancel our trip the day before we were supposed to leave. Had to struggle just to get a refund, and rudely got told that they had the right to refuse anyone and forced us to cancel all plans and ferry tickets. Now we have had to cancel the entire trip because no other campsite’s could be booked the night before a trip. Thanks to the lovely mowhinna creek campground staff we no longer have a spring break camping trip. thanks for ruining our spring break i hope you’re happy betraying paying customers. I would recommend never ever booking here because it probably smells bad. and even if you tried there is no guarantee of actually getting a site booked. response to reply: now, if there was information on your website that said anything about one 18 year old necessary to book this site your cancellation would be fair, but due to you not sharing this information until the day before our trip and then deciding to add the rule to your website, we were left with no other booking options for our stay. We also specifically chose your campsite due to no age restrictions mentioned, especially when everyone over 14 pays adult prices, then out of the blue being asked who’s the adult coming with us and deciding to share this piece of information. Then all of a sudden thats been the rule the whole time but you’re telling us now? Im disappointed in how this whole thing was handled and if you had all the information on your site or mentioned it upon booking or anytime in the weeks we’d had this campsite booked then it would’ve been better. Also I do hope you plan on refunding us and the other members of our group due to the rapid cancellation of our stay.

I am doing my first winter camping season in my motorhome and really wanted to check out Salt Spring! I'm so happy I chose to stay here! Sandy and Ian were amazing hosts and were incredibly responsive if I needed anything! As it was off season I am unable to rate the showers etc but I would imagine they are as pristine as the rest of the place! The campground is SUPER clean and it's clear that this place is their labor of love!

Excellent stay on our bike packing adventure!!! Camp hosts were lovely, friendly and attentive and gave us excellent recommendations for activities in town (Market, Fall Fair, etc). Bathrooms were clean and clearly well maintained. Sites are well looked after and private with lovely log walls along the borders. Campground was quiet for our 3 night stay and close to town to be able to grocery shop and explore Ganges. Would highly recommend for bike and car campers! Will definitely be back!

Cleanest campground bathrooms and showers and grounds I’ve ever seen. Friendly , helpful and well organized hosts.Very quiet at night.Sat out by the fire until 12:30 all I could hear was the crackle of the fire and the odd car on the road.We were in our big truck camper lots of room for it nice and level. We didn’t need them but I noticed they had cables attached to trees to anchor your tarp if you needed one.Really quite a lovely place.

What a lovely place to camp! The grounds are extremely well kept. The washrooms are very clean and have flush toilets. It’s dark and quiet at night, as it should be. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We wish we had more time to stay and discover all the treasures of this part of Salt Spring Island. We hope to return!
