One of the last "free" camping spots on the west coast. (Those of us paying taxes realize nothing is "free"). There used to be a couple spots where you could park a van but they "improved" those two options away. Looks like they want to make this a fee area. It's kind of sad what can happen with a complicit and brainwashed public.
This is a walk in tent campsite. Learned that after driving the 10 miles up with our truck camper. 😒 The views are amazing and flowers are beautiful. I wish we could've stayed. Several spots were taken on a Monday afternoon. Enjoy for us!
Twenty minute drive from Ashland and 80 degrees vs 105! Dining alfresco, enjoying the beautiful trees and mountains. Not to mention flowers everywhere!!!
Just a short drive from Ashland and you are in the middle of beautiful forests. If you continue down the gravel roads, it is a beautiful drive through southern Oregon back country. It blows my mind every time because of how close but far from civilization I am.
Really awesome forest service campground on top of Mount Ashland. It was a bit smokey, but the sunset further up the road was stunning!
