This state park is so awesome. We were so impressed with how handicap accessible everything is (neither of us are handicapped but the trails and the access were just so impressive)!!! The electric sites look very nice, the showers were hot and clean, and the bathrooms were so clean. Stayed here for two nights for our end of season camp out, can’t wait to come back next year to paddle board!
We first reserved site 123 but thought it was a little too open for us so we asked if we could switch to site 40 which is more wooded. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly! The campground itself was very quiet because we stayed the second weekend of September. The bathrooms were clean. Showers are separate from the toilets. Campsites are regularly picked up and checked after people leave. There are animals to see throughout, we saw rabbits, frogs, bats, various rodents and lots of birds! The beach area and boat launch are awesome! The water is crystal clear and shallow. There is a changing room and bathroom area at the beach, as well as a large playground area and covered picnic tables. The trails that run along the lake have picnic tables and grills scattered in the woods. The boat launch has a nice dock, plenty of parking and a good loop around road for trailers. Though we didn't have much luck fishing at the boat launch it was a beautiful view and we are definitely coming back next year!
Great overall campground! Very quiet at quiet hours. Firewood and ice for sale at the entrance booth. Boat rentals for cheap. Camp sites were a bit close but well maintained. They have weekly activities for kids. A nature center, and a weather forecasting lesson. Movies shown at the amphitheater every Saturday Night it seems. Beech trees and mushrooms galore. Grate for cooking on fire pit. Picnic tables at every site. Water tap and bathrooms not far from any site. Showers were a bit of a walk but you can also drive to them. Same with the beach. Great swimming! Bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve ever been in.
We had a lovely time at this park, found the staff very friendly and helpful. They helped us find a spot so we wouldn't have to move 4 times like I had set up online thru reservations. We left multiple times with gear and a kayak left out and had no problems with theft as someone else described. I enjoyed running on the newly paved roads. It was a mile from our campsite to the road and .5 miles from office to boat dock. We walked swett road but found multiple loose dogs along it which I try to avoid while running. Loved the free showers too, they do vary in temperature and pressure. Great hikes nearby!!
Beautiful setting and area, tight camp sites but a few larger and more open ones. Nice lake and a good playground here
