One of my favorite hikes at crater lake. It is all the way uphill but it is well worth the effort: the views you get are more and more beautiful the farther you reach up to the top, where you can enjoy the views of the whole lake from above and far away. Much better if done early in the morning: avoid the heat and the crowds and have the best lighting. It can be completed in less than 2 hours at a good steady pace.

8920 ish ft marks the top! Really not as difficult as they have it rated. Take breaks, drink water, and enjoy! Was able to do this with my 6 year old daughter, wife, and friend, who are all non hikers. Only place in the park you can see the entire lake in one view.

This was a staircase into the sky. Climbing the tallest peak in an area is always amazing as you get great views every direction. There was a fire lookout at the top and phenomenal panoramic views. Bring a snack and plenty of water as the climb is unrelenting, but well worth the effort. As one loud and annoying person showed us for way too long; you can get cell signal, but you will definitely get (and deserve) dirty looks from the other hikers. Try to pick a clear day for your trip to the summit as the stunning views are worth rearranging your schedule a bit to ensure you have nice weather.

It's a gradual incline, but still challenging. It's not very close to Crater Lake so pictures of the lake were hazy. Crowded trail. About half is in the shade.

We were climbing Mt Scott right when the notorious Bootleg wildfire was at its maximum strength. Smoke from the enormous forest fire spoiled the majority of my photos but it also (as usual) allowed me to take some ominous but extremely beautiful photos.
