Welcome to Mussigbrod Campground, located in the remote area of Sula, Montana. As a part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, Mussigbrod Campground offers a beautiful natural setting, but comes with several challenges that potential visitors should be aware of. You can reach them at (406) 689-3243 or +1 406-689-3243.
Based on customer reviews, the campground is situated in an absolutely beautiful area. However, accessing the campground requires navigating a difficult ride along bumpy dirt roads, making it more suitable for extended camping trips rather than short visits.
One of the significant challenges reported by visitors is the prevalence of massive mosquitoes. Campers should be prepared for intense mosquito activity, as they are described as being everywhere and audible in the air.
Additionally, the campground has experienced low lake water levels, which may contribute to the increased presence of mosquitoes and biting flies. The "drinking water" provided at the campground has been reported to be yellow and have a bad taste, suggesting potential quality issues.
Another significant drawback is the long, dusty, and rough road leading to the campground, which can make the journey challenging and uncomfortable. Visitors are actively seeking alternative campgrounds for future trips due to these issues.
While Mussigbrod Campground offers beautiful scenery, potential visitors should be prepared for difficult access, significant mosquito activity, potentially poor water quality, and low lake levels. Camping is advised over short trips. If you are looking for a very remote location, and are prepared for the elements, this location might be for you.

Absolutely beautiful. It is a difficult ride out (bumpy dirt roads), would be much better to camp than just a few hour trip. Be ready for massive mosquitoes, they were everywhere...you could hear the buzzing in the air.
Wow...low lake water levels. Lowest I've seen in quite some time! Maybe that is why the mosquitos and biting flys were so bad. The "drinking water" was yellow and had a bad taste. Lastly, the road in was LONG, dusty and rough! Looking for alternative campgrounds for next year. Suggestions welcome!
Great campground! Lots of trees with river and lake access. Clean bathrooms and water available.
The drive there was beautiful - the lake was low, so we didn't fish - the campground was well kept and the outhouses have owl guards over the vents - thanks DNR for keeping the owls safe. 😊
Nice and quiet. Bathroom was clean.
