Customer Reviews
This campground was pretty but the restroom lights didn't work in the men's room and there is a no alcohol rule in camp. Some of us are traveling and can't exactly empty our cars to not possess alcoholic beverages when we collect craft beers from across the state/country... I have typically never had a bad camping experience but this stay was the exception. We had a neighbor that ran his generator all evening and morning. There should be a decibel limit on generators, they had an old, very loud, whole-house generator. Update: Came back a year later and there are new restrooms. They have 4 unisex stalls with showers. The water was hot but they could have fit 2 more in the same space to reduce congestion. They also do not drain very well. At&t cellular reception is decent.
Great little place to come reset. First time camping here. We stayed at site 1, which was right next to the lake. There is plenty of room for multiple tents / vehicles / rigs. We expected electric hookup as stated on the reservation, but we were well equipped anyway. Nice bathroom / shower combo with hot water. No ATVs were allowed posted on the gate. Private gated entrance that is always closed unless you have your code. Long trails all around the campground. We spotted some dirt bikes and Jeeps tackling them.
Wonderful experience :) Very well maintained and clean. I believe it’s only $10 per night for camping. No electricity but has water faucet, fire pit and picnic table as you can see in the pic. They offer free firewood as well so we added some donation when we purchased the ticket online. There are two bathrooms and I actually saw a electrical outlet outside the female bathroom if someone really need to charge their phone. Visited here from Monday-Friday during May so it’s only us and maybe 2 more other families here. Fairly close to crystal river for manatee and one hour drive to Tampa for some authentic Chinese food. 30min drive to the amazing Rainbow Springs. Absolutely will come back
It was overall a great experience, no where to hook up any outlets nothing to power any of our stuff so we had to pay almost 300$ for a portable generator. The place was quite felt overall safe compared to some of the other campgrounds. ⛺️ We would definitely come back and suggest people with kids if they want more of a family safe place to be in the woods I would chose this place I have 3 kids so I would definitely bring them. Me and Justin had a good time! Oh and the no animals thing should change….. people have pets…. I had to leave my dog with family due to our circumstances now but I looked forward to bringing him on this trip with us
Good campground with lots of shade. 13 sites with water but no electricity, don't count on finding power at the bathrooms either. Water at each site can be a little ways away from where you want it, so bring a hose. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained, but are open air and older, so keep that in mind. Also can be a bit of a walk from one side of the campground. Lots of hiking, a lake ( but couldn't get close enough for fishing ) and generally very scenic for central FL.
