For Louisiana residents and travelers passing through the central part of the state, **Nakatosh RV Park** in Natchitoches offers a highly practical and well-located option for a comfortable stay. Natchitoches, the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase, is a town steeped in history, and Nakatosh RV Park serves as an excellent gateway to its charm. This facility caters primarily to the RV traveler, providing the essential services and ease of access required for both a quick overnight stop along I-49 or an extended base for exploring the Cane River region.
The park is known for its **nice RV spots with plenty of trees and space**, providing a welcome sense of shade and natural separation often missing at other roadside parks. While it is noted to be near a truck stop, customer feedback generally suggests the noise is manageable and the security is appreciated. The management, praised for "fantastic service" by guests like "Amy," clearly focuses on delivering value and convenience. With full hookups, competitive pricing, and proximity to one of Louisiana’s most historic districts, Nakatosh RV Park is an ideal choice for the local user looking for a straightforward, functional, and well-positioned RV stop in the heart of the state.
Nakatosh RV Park is strategically located at **5428 University Pkwy, Natchitoches, LA 71457, USA**. This address places the park with **easy on-and-off access to Interstate 49 (I-49), particularly near Exit 138 (or Exit 38 in older references) and Highway 6**.
This prime location is a major benefit for Louisiana travelers, as it minimizes driving time off the interstate, making it a perfect stopping point. Crucially, the park is **just minutes away from downtown Natchitoches**. This means guests have quick access to the famous **Historic District**, the **brick-lined streets**, the **Cane River Lake**, and the town's renowned Southern Creole dining establishments like Lasyone's Meat Pie Restaurant. While the park is situated next to a gas station or truck stop—which provides convenience—it also means guests must be aware of potential associated noise, though many find it minimal and worth the trade-off for the easy accessibility. The location is an excellent blend of highway convenience and proximity to Louisiana's rich cultural history.
Nakatosh RV Park ensures a comfortable and low-hassle stay by providing the full range of amenities expected by modern RV travelers and campers.
The highlights of Nakatosh RV Park center on its strategic location, value proposition, and the quality of its individual sites.

RV spots are nice with plenty of trees and space. You’ll have truck noise from the station next door but it’s not bad. My only complaint as a van lifer with no on board bathroom was the condition of the on-site bathrooms. Messy, dirty, but usable. Towels and toilet paper should be placed in dispensers and not on the floor/counter. Floors , showers and toilets were in need of cleaning. Great place other than those issues.
Service from Amy was fantastic. Hot shower and washer/dryer services were available also.
Beautiful rv parking. Amy was so sweet. She said because it's behind a truck stopping gas station that most people pull in and don't wanna stay. I say stay, it's beautiful. It's pretty quiet. It's clean and well kept
Super nice stay. Long pull through, didn't need to unhitch. An excellent walk to a wonderful Mexican Restaurant El Patio. In fact you can pretty much walk to anything here. Truck stop is adjacent to the campgrounds, the entrance is actually the last driveway to the truck stop. If you get there when the office is closed, there's and envelope and box to put the fee in, then call and the nice lady will give you all the access codes. We didn't experience any truck noise as we kept our fan going. Yes we will be back.
Very nice park, outstanding value, 1/4 mile off the highway so there’s no highway noise. The truck parking area adjacent to this park will have the occasional overnight reefer and tractor idling but it’s not too bad. Entrance should be marked better. We didn’t use the bathrooms or laundry so can’t tell you about those. We were just going to do an overnight but learned of the Christmas lights show down at the river bank that night so we stayed one more day - wonderful decision 👍 VERY nice staff, Amy is wonderful. Level pull-thru gravel sites, full hook-ups. I was debating to Give 4 stars because it’s not an “upscale resort” with all the amenities, paved roads, concrete sites, on a lake, etc. but at $32 for my 45’ Class A it is a solid, nice, safe, good quality Campground with good size sites at a great price so I felt 5 stars was reasonable.
