Simple efficiency cabin was great. Enjoyed the pleasures of the outdoors with some of the most important comforts of home. Not luxurious, but a great place at a fair rate. Demands for deposit return are very simple and reasonable and deposit refund was made at 5pm on day of checkout. Will go back.
When I found out the previous owners Jerry & Marsha had sold the property as I was headed up to stay Labor Day weekend, I was sad as Marsha & Jerry had become like family to us over the years. They decided to retire so I was happy for them, even though I had that moment of "oh no, what's to come of the place we love to stay & were always treated so well at?" That weekend I met Jimmy, son of the new owners. I struck up a convo with him because I noticed he'd been busting his but trimming trees from the moment I got there. I sensed he & his family cherished the spot as much as Jerry, Marsha, & all us regulars do! I could tell they were really looking forward to being the new owners!! I should've known that was something Marsha & Jerry would've sought in new owners!!! I stayed there again this weekend and had the opportunity to meet Jon, Jimmy's Dad & chat with him a bit. I think I caught a glimpse of his wife Janet riding on the utv with Jimmy as we chatted. I have to say once again, we felt very welcome & had a great stay!!!! Looking forward to seeing ya'll again in a couple weekends!!!!!
Camped here for kayaking the Nantahala. For a Friday night the place was not busy. We rented a basic camp site and had plenty of room for two tents and a truck. Three or four tents are do able, but it would start to get tight. Really depends on the lot at that point. The bathroom and showers were reasonably clean. Better than I expected.
Just had the best weekend camping here. I just love this spot! Convenient to the NOC, clean, and beautiful! Thank you guys! See you soon!!!
I would like to thank Marsha and Jerry for a great camping experience. Beautiful private full hookups camping. Great location and lots to do. After living in Florida this was heavenly. We had 2 weeks there and we are happy Campers. Peaceful
Our church youth group loved camping at Nantahala Hideaway this weekend. It's a serene location, with the running creek and plenty of space. The management and site care team were courteous and professional from scheduling through check-out. We especially appreciated that they made sure to check that we had what we needed after we settled in--because they hooked us up with dry firewood! The bathroom facilities were clean and well-maintained. Several adults in our group commented that they'd love to book another trip back to the Hideaway.
We stayed here due to its close proximity to the Nantahala River. In a word "awesome." I spoke to the owner and he told me about how much he has done to recreate this campground and you can tell he is absolutely customer oriented and cares about his business. The shop at the office has everything you need. The firewood and ice was priced very reasonably and was exceptionally convenient to get as needed. Also, the bathhouse was very clean and comfortable.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Nantahala Hideaway Campground & Cabins! The new owners have done a fantastic job updating and maintaining the entire property — you can really see the care and effort they’ve put into making it a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay. We stayed in the Mountain Laurel (Big Cabin) for two nights, and it was perfect for our group. The cabin has two bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed and four bunk beds, which worked out great for everyone. It also has a full bathroom, a spacious living room, and a full-sized kitchen stocked with everything we needed. Each room had its own A/C unit (including the living room), and the heat worked extremely well — we were comfortable no matter the temperature outside. One of the things that stood out the most was how clean everything was. The entire cabin was spotless, and it’s clear the new owners take a lot of pride in keeping the place in excellent shape. They were also incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making the experience even better. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-kept getaway in the Nantahala area, we can’t recommend this place enough. We’ll definitely be back!
Amazing experience here. Apparently they have new owners, who are really fixing the place up to be a first class destination. It is super convenient to dining, grocery, and of course nantahala outdoor center! Also a very easy drive from Atlanta, with tons to see and do while there. I got a cabin which was super clean and quiet. There is a creek that runs thru the property, and so many hiking opportunities. I am already planning my next trip.
This was the second time we stayed at this campground, first time was about 4 years ago. The campground is easy to get to. We stayed on Memorial Day weekend and it wasn’t full, which we prefer. Campers were respectful of the quiet hours and honestly the sound of the river drowns out most of the noise. We had a pop up camper and it was easy to get it in to our site. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned everyday we were there. Trash was easy to put in the bins on the way out and one of the owners even did a ride by trash pick up at one point. We cooked all of our food at the campground but the NOC is a short drive away for food and entertainment.
