Wonderful first-come, first-served camp sites in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. Recent campground improvements include wonderful level tent pads and roomy drive in spots for campers and another vehicle Be bear-aware and follow park information for stowing food, etc. Also be MOOSE aware, and keep a HEALTHY distance between you and any moose you have the privilege of seeing! We were blessed with MANY sightings during our brief stay. ALL campgrounds in the area fill quickly and nearly all have no cell service. If you don't have a rewervation/ are meeting others, pre-arrange an alternate time and place to meet or connect at the camp entrance sign. There are some dispersed forest service camping opportunities nearby - it is a good idea to have a back up plan! Several campers had dogs with them.
great campground some spaces on stream. quiet altitude 10.5k so not to many bugs .great hiking 1 mile up the road is Brooklyn lake for fishing.
This was our first time back to Nash Fork in 14 years and my how it has changed! The camp sites are very clean with plenty of space for tents, travel trailers and even motor homes. It is well maintained with the exception of hand sanitizer/toilet paper in the pit toilets (not always available, but replaced during the week) however since we are not rookie campers we always carry our own! Easy to reserve sites online (in advance) or show up for a FF site. There is NO water as the web says (despite a family member calling the Ranger station to verify and being told there was water). So you have to go up the road to the next campground for water, just be ready to pump by hand and have plenty of water jug space to fill an RV. The campgrounds resident moose also made for so great evening viewing.
Awesome campground, clean and the tent pads were nice and level. One of the best camping experiences we have had.
After striking out from two other full campgrounds I settled on this one. Entire lot is first come first serve only and there were a handful of sites available. $10 a day to rent a site. Like others said you will get some highway noise but the Campground itself is dispersed and you are not on top of each other.
