We've returned to Natures Hideaway Family Campground for the third time this year, and it never disappoints! The staff here are consistently accommodating and understanding. Even when we encountered some issues with our reservations, they always went out of their way to ensure our requests were met. Every interaction with the team is a pleasure. They are approachable and always greet you with a welcoming smile. Our group continues to choose this campground because of the exceptional service and the warm, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great camping experience!
Beautiful scenery and nice quiet secluded campground. Too bad the wasps will literally eat you alive. I was stung twice. Plus you literally need to watch your head because there are constantly falling tree branches. One hit me in the eye another fell on our rv and broke a sky light and no compensation not even an apology was received. We spent three weeks at this campground. The main worker in the store is grumpy and ignores any complaints you make. No apologies for anything. A truck revved its engine outside our site waking us up at 5am and apparently this was acceptable because he works here. He informed my partner she was to “go back to her campsite women” when a complaint about it was made. Again, beautiful but horrible service and no bed side manner to be found. Save your money and try somewhere else!
This was our family’s first time camping ever and we were tenting. We were there this past labour day long weekend and what a great experience it was. The staff welcomed us and delivered our firewood. Kurtis, one of their staff members was awesome and would check on us make sure we were all satisfied. The kids would swim all day in the river, play in the play ground and shoot some hoops. There was a movie night in the playground and the next night there was a live band on the beach. Our neighbours were very friendly, respectable and didn’t disturb. Overall we enjoyed our time, learned a lot of things, and will return again next summer. Highly recommend this camp ground and also bring a gazebo to protect from wasps.
A family friend suggested it and it was great for the kids. They loved spending time by the river. Unfortunately for us we arrived on a rainy day and little did we know that our spot had a hornets nest. I mentioned this to the receptionist and all they could offer was for me to pay for a decoy nest as it was up in the canopy of the trees and they could spray it with raid. The wood bundles are expensive and the locked bathrooms were inconvenient when you have a toddler who has zero patience. I can understand the paid showers but I wish there was a wash off zone for all the sand the kids manage to find in cracks. I would give this place another shot just because the rain day was obviously not their fault. I didn’t appreciate the motorcycle being turned on at 5 in the morning and the argument that followed. A tree did fall while it was raining and I was impressed with how quickly staff came to clean it up.
So terribly disgusted and disappointed. We’ve been coming 20+ years and we see consistent decline in customer service and quality of campground. Porta potties often full and locked on long weekends! Huge rocks and stones in site that make it dangerous to walk. Dead tree limbs everywhere. Prices keep going up. I don’t understand! Leave messages to speak to manager about conditions and they never call back! We used to recommend all our friends to Nature’s Hideaway. Now we recommend they stay away! So sad.
