Promotional Information:

Needles Outpost Campground near Canyonlands National Park in Monticello, UT, offers a unique camping experience with direct access to rock climbing. While praised for its location and friendly hosts, reviews highlight issues with bathroom cleanliness. Amazing location and super friendly hosts. You can climb the rocks right next to your tent. How amazing is that! Kids loved it! Many reviews mentioned that bathrooms could use an overhaul. This is true but considering that all the water has to be hauled in, it is great they offer showers in a first place. Keeping this place running is tough. I would definitely come again as overall it was one of the greatest camping locations I visited in US. And you can get a fresh coffee in the morning! This is a beautiful campground in a convenient location to the Needles quadrant of Canyonlands. The staff was friendly and check in was fast and easy. We specifically chose it because of the access to a shower. However, as many reviewers have already stated the bathrooms were quite dirty. I have no qualms about a dated facility (which it is) but the showers were quite disgusting, trash cans overflowing, only one working sink and no soap in the dispenser. RV campers can use their own bathrooms but tent campers rely on the service from campground operators.

The guy gaslighted me on gas. He said $7/gallon but wanted to have me pay after he pumped. At that time it went up to $10 a gallon. The gas was already in my car so I paid it and was happy I didn't run out of gas in Canyonlands. Sketchy!

The campground is right outside the national park with warm showers which were much appreciated in April! The hosts are great and really strive to make this place a desert oasis. The stars were amazing and campsites big enough to park our RV and set up a tent to accommodate our group.

Rented a tent & bags in April 2023 for two nights and couldn't be happier with our experience. The host-owners are friendly and fun to talk to, and full of great advice and knowledge of the local area. The # of stars visible at night are remarkable, and the campgrounds are quiet and peaceful. We climbed up the butte and saw lizards, a rattlesnake and petroglyphs. Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves because the grounds are spread out. Really loved our stay and would come back next time we visit Needles region.
