Welcome to Newport News Parks Campsite Office, located in Newport News, Virginia. As a part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, this office serves as the gateway to numerous outdoor recreational opportunities, including camping, hiking, and biking.

According to customer reviews, the area offers well-maintained hiking trails, ranging from 3 to 5 miles, suitable for various fitness levels. These trails are noted for their scenic beauty and cleanliness. The campsite office also features a small, well-stocked camp store and laundry facilities, with 5 washers and 5 dryers available at $1.25 each. Laundry closes at 9pm.

Camping options include various loops, with the "D" loop offering proximity to the water. However, visitors should be aware that the "D" loop can be noisy due to nearby road traffic and occasional train noise. Some campsites may also be uneven. Site cleanliness can vary, as there is no consistent park staff cleaning between campers.

That pic is the beginning of a 3 to 5 mile trail hike depending on how you cut it up. It's level. Pretty and well kept. Dog poop free because hikers and pet lovers are conscientious. Totally recommend.

This is a very nice place, the staff is friendly, and check in was easy. The office hosts as small, well stocked, camp store. There is also a laundry in that building that closes up at 9pm. There are 5 washers and 5 dryers and all worked well. They were both $1.25 each. We chose to camp in the “D” loop in order to be close to the water, but beware, it is very noisy with the nearby road traffic, it sounded like a racetrack at times. There is also random train noise and our site was VERY unlevel. When a camper vacates a site, there is no park staff that cleans the site. We found trash scattered throughout, (a sock, glow sticks, small pieces of children’s toys, plastic utensils, etc). Maybe a park host is in order? I only visited the bathroom near the sani-dump and it was disgusting. This park is nice and close to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. We enjoyed riding the 5.3 mile bike loop and enjoyed a couple of small hiking trails that take you to the park nearby.

We were in our rv so didn't use anything except restroom & shower. They were OK. Seemed clean enough. I know in this song it's impossible to avoid bugs & cobwebs so other than those, great. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Very nice store in the office.

Very rude park ranger. I felt he was racist and very nasty for no reason. We have camped for 7 years with music playing and never had any issues and today we had a ranger come yelling at us due to us being too “loud”. We apologized and he was still very nasty. Very disappointed. Will never come back

We booked Saturday thru Thursday and I wish we hadn't. Nobody told us there was a major highway right next to the campground. So 4 am the road gets busy, and it's noisy. The sites are large but the traffic noise it something you can't overcome.

Great camp group. Water access. Clean facilities, great little store for some last-minute essentials, laundry room, and friendly staff. Would highly recommend as a hotel alternative for a bush gardens trip or Williamsburg/jamestown/your town historical excursions. It was really great and well maintained.

Large campground with many trees, walking and biking paths. Quiet. Some sites are quite uneven or sloped. Sites do not have sewer dump but this is available in a convenient location.
