First time here and we love it. Friendly staff. Reasonable rates. All sites have concrete pads and can handle rigs up to 40 feet. Some sites are pretty close but most are spaced apart at an acceptable distance. Nearly all sites are shaded, have fire pits, and picnic tables. They have a nice pool, playground, laundry room, and two huge pavilions on site. If you like to hike this is the campground for you. The Black Creek Trail system has several hiking and bike trails accessible from the campground. The Gorge trail is a loop trail that takes you under and behind the 90 foot Noccalula Falls. Our 8 year old granddaughter loved it. She also enjoyed relaxing along the creek with her feet in the water.
We absolutely love camping here. It’s one of our go to spots in Alabama. We can’t wait to come back once the renovations are done. The trails are very well kept and it’s a short walk to the falls and the big park and playground for all ages. Dog friendly. Definitely recommend.
10 trails fabulous bathrooms and showers amazing waterfalls (one trail goes underneath it). Good sights good quiet control been lots of times already. Just a treasure of a place and there's a little train . It's really worth the trip.
20230329 1.7 mile gravel trail through the campground away from the waterfalls. There are picnic Pavillions, can be rented, and a small restroom with running water. The space to the sink is very tight, not for larger ladies. The waterfall is pretty, with an area for kids to play in the water on the other side of the bridge. There is a playground with a much larger and nicer restroom, more Pavillions, a visitors center with petting zoo, train ride and gift shop further away in the other side of the falls from the campground. If you walk a litter further, there is a Patriot Park dedicated to the Military with an outdoor exhibit. Worth seeing. There is a Popsicle shop with homemade Popsicles, which is very good.
This was our first visit, and after a few bumps in the road due to freezing weather, we loved it! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Besides the campground itself, it's connected to walking/hiking trails and Noccalula Falls Park. This gives you plenty to do within walking distance of the campground which I loved! Also worth mentioning is their resident black squirrels! I had never seen a black squirrel before, so we were quite surprised, as was our dog. I took our dog on a hike to Noccalula Falls Gorge trail, which was a truly awesome experience! We will be returning for visits in the future.
