Stopped to see what the trails are like and for southwest Iowa they are not bad. Most of the trails are maintained and mowed with the exception of some in the northern parts of the park where the terrain is a bit more rugged. I couldn't find a map of the trails anywhere so I basically started hiking and tried to keep the boundary of the park to my left this means I didn't hike many of the interior trails but likely did the longest possible loop. I had limited time but likely could have walked most, if not all of the trails in 2 or 3 hours. The unmaintained trails could get pretty messy if it has been wet. If I'm close again and have the time, I'll stop again.
Good place to camp 🏕 for the day had the power we needed to run everything in our RV! I would definitely come here again instead of a state park!! 👍👍
