This is a state park. Camping was crammed and the sites were not maintained. They were filled with trees, roots, rocks and tree stumps. The sites are also hard to get into because of the way they are situated. You are literally on top of your neighbors!! Our site had lots of cigarette butts in the grass. It seemed to be run by kids, so there wasn’t much urgency to anything. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, but overall were not that bad. Lots of traffic noise overnight. On the positive side, you are mere steps from Lake Champlain and a short drive from downtown Burlington. Not my favorite campground!
Location is superb!! Right beside the amazing Burlington Greenway bike path. We rode our bikes everywhere instead of driving. Lake Champlain is right beside the bike path. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the showers. The handicapped shower is roomy, but the shower head is wheelchair level with no way to move it. Water was so hot it bordered on dangerous. The other showers had no shelves or anywhere to put stuff. The water in the other showers comes out with the force of a sandblaster. It was painful 😒.
Nice park on the water. Camping sites are nice. Ours was large enough for our big rig and tow vehicle. It’s a little difficult to get to since you have to go through town a lot of small streets with on street parking. Also don’t trust your gps it wants to turn into a neighborhood just before the park. The park entrance could be better marked.
Camped with our RV for 2 nights here. Nice location with convenient access to the beach and bike path. Camp sites have full service hookups. Property was a bit junky with random equipment parked haphazardly. Some junky cars rolling through with some transient looking people, although Burlington is a lot rougher of a town than expecting. Homeless people around frequently throughout the city. Not the most desirable place sadly. Was expecting more from the city but the campground was sufficient.
Camping was alright. Staff was kind to us. Bathrooms were ok the other campers made it worse by not cleaning up after themselves. Had some annoying neighbors but it’s Vermont. You tell em to shut the hell up at 2 am and they cowardly hide away in there tent and shut up. I’d say it was a good spot to sit down and enjoy for a couple days.
