Customer Reviews
Loved this place camping midweek! Quite peaceful with excellent biking. Had enough Verizon cell bars to work and do a few meetings.
Very extensive and fun MTB trails. The two I went on had a bunch of fast sweeping turns. Could easily spend a couple of days here to ride them all. Good parking area. Access road is rough in areas.
Amazing area for mountain biking and class 1 electrics are allowed and are perfect for this massive area. Free camping below the pay campgrounds, pronghorns running around with beautiful mountain views all around. Had to clean up a ton of glass, nails and bullet casings, locals need to respect the land better…
This trail system is AWESOME!!! The NEW DH section is fun and FAST!
Great trail network. Didn't have enough time to explore more, but the few trails we rode were very flowy and pretty fun. If you're looking for the techy stuff this isn't the place. If you're looking for flowy and fast, this is the place!
The 18 Road trails are super fun. They have options for all skill levels. The scenery is beautiful too. You're right up against the book cliffs and Colorado National Monument is off in the distance.
If you observe the map, you'll see at the south end, just south of the "Lower CG & Event Area" it is outside of the paid camping area where it is free to camp. There is a whole area just for free camping. There are basically 3 small campground areas. The first one (furthest south) is free, but it's easy to miss because there is construction happening on the road where the entrance is, and you pass it as you're following the pilot vehicle. There is also a lot of construction equipment near the entrance currently. The next 2 are reservation/fee sites, which are the more obvious spots. The free area is quite large and flat. Might get pretty easy to get stuck if muddy, though. Great 5G cell reception throughout.
