Perfect little escape. Not much of a beach but swimming among the flowers was pretty cool. If you are a birder, this was a lovely cross section of habitats, plenty of species to enjoy for July. Not very buggy for having a wetland corner on the downstream side.
Beautiful scenery, nice lake Roosevelt. Cute very little camping areas. To many bees this year.
Gorgeous campsites, with some designed to accommodate both tents and RVs. Some campsites are clustered together, for group adventures, each with plenty of natural vegetation, elevation changes, and access to the lake for beauty and privacy. Some campsites are set back from paved parking for a feeling of really leaving the workaday world behind. Multiple boat launch ramps and latrines.
Very clean and well maintained campground.
Nice campground. Limited turn around for camper. A 6.5 meter camper had to back in about 50 meters to get in spot. Nice boat launch for small boat. Gorgeous sunsets. No potable water. Bathroom was clean. Then there's the 0700 and 2045 freight trains that sound like it's coming through camp. Beautiful views of the mighty Columbia gets this campground a generous 3 stars.
GREAT CAMPGROUND especially if you are traveling with teenagers. The cliffs are 35-40 feet high and the kids spent two full days jumping off, swimming around, climbing back up and doing it again. Wear sandals - your feet hit the water hard. We paddled up from Kettle Falls, and this was the best of several great campsites.
