Customer Reviews
Spent many summer vacations at NOH. Been visiting since 1990. The campground has not changed much other than updated bathrooms. In a world where everything changes, NOH retains that old school camping charm. Bathrooms and showers are always clean. The showers are wonderful. They cost a quarter for 7 minutes. Water is always hot enough. Nice rec hall with pool tables, ping pong, Foosball, and a fireplace for those rainy cold days. Sites are decent. Most don't have electricity. Quiet hours are strictly enforced. If you came here to party all night, this is not the place for you! Great spot for families. Head of the Meadow Beach is just a short half mile walk. No pets allowed.
Our absolute favorite campground. We've been returning for over 20 years. Meticulous attention to the campsites both for cleanliness but also respect and safety. Great playground. Fantastic showers for 25 cents a long hot shower. Laundry on site. Quiet hours are enforced. Walking distance to national seashore and easy biking to Ptown. We love it!!! Wonderful owners and staff as well. Very helpful.
(reviewing for tent camping only) I have been coming here since I was a toddler (and my mother since she was a teen. She's in her 60s now, for context). We love this place. Warm and friendly and easy to stay. Feels like home. Facilities and amenities are perfect for a Cape campground, clean, functional, and just rustic enough. The access to Head of the Meadow beach is awesome and could save you $100/week on a beach sticker if you're willing to walk/bike and pack light. They've also done a nice job adapting to the modern world and designated their Quiet Room to a bank of charging outlets for all of your various devices. Feels a little weird at first, leaving your phone in a room alone for a few hours, but I've never known of any issues. Everyone is super respectful. Important to note that quiet hours are from 10:30pm-7:30am which is a little tricky with very young children. Our 2yo did okay with the minimal noise around our area after her bedtime at 8ish but we were glad we brought a portable white noise machine. And it was tricky to keep her quiet before 7:30 when she wakes up sometimes at 6...but easy enough to solve by taking a walk or ride to the beach for breakfast 😉
My wife and I stayed here for a week to explore properties in the area and enjoy the beaches. The management here is incredible. Upon arrival Robert, in the front office had taken the time to thoroughly explain the park rules and attractions. He worked with us to make sure we got the site that we were looking for. This gentleman was a breathe of fresh air with his kindness and big smile you could still see under his mask. The restrooms were cleaned twice a day with pressure washers and disinfectors. The walk to Head of the Meadow beach was only about 8 minutes through a gorgeous scotch bonnet pine forest. If you haven't stayed here yet... Do it!
We had such a special time at North of Highland Camping Area. Each campsite has plenty of room, giving you privacy from other campers while also creating a lovely, communal feel. Bathrooms were just a short walk away, and were kept spotless, with clean drinking water spigots that filled our water bottles in no time. Showers near the entrance building had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Everyone respected quiet hours, so we got lots of sleep! It was a lovely walk through the woods to the beach. Also, not a single mosquito our whole stay!
We had a wonderful week camping at North of Highland. Beautiful location in the woods, with easy access to the beach and other Cape Cod attractions by road. We live in North Carolina but have family that spend two weeks each summer at the Cape and so wish we were closer to be able to visit more often. Showers were probably the best I’ve experienced camping, and the restrooms were also very clean and well maintained. We loved it so much we made some keepsakes from shells we found on the beach. Makes us smile each time we look at them and remember the great times 😊
