We spent the whole weekend camping at the salt plains, it was awesome. We stayed at the North spill way camp site which was located near the dig site where we dug up tons of selenite crystals, the lake was only a few blocks away and we had the view of the spillway from our tent. It was awesome and also only a short drive to the painted desert/gloss mountain. Highly recommend.
The bathrooms nearest our camp site were glorified port-a-pottys. They were not bad. But if they installed lids on them it would help keep the smell down even more. The campsite was well taken care of and spacious.
Great place to camp and bowfish, lots of snakes this time of year they are non venomous they eat frogs, tad poles, and tiny fish.
Breath taking sunrise and sunsets, crystal digging, campfire, showers and beautiful company and extremely relaxing.
Good amount of campsites. Both for Rv or tent camping.
