Explore family camping activities that bring all ages together, from outdoor games and scenic hikes to memorable campfire fun that creates lasting memories.
Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Shaver Lake, California, Nutmeg Campground offers a tranquil retreat for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. This spacious campground is surrounded by lush greenery, especially vibrant during the springtime, and features a wide field ringed by trees, providing a serene and scenic environment for your stay.
One of the highlights of Nutmeg Campground is its proximity to Nutmeg Creek, where visitors can enjoy a refreshing dip or try their hand at fishing. The campground is conveniently located off Big Creek Road, just past the Upper Big Creek Bridge, making it easily accessible for campers.
During the warmer months, the campground can get quite hot, so it's advisable to set up camp near the copse of trees to the south for some shade. However, visitors should exercise extreme caution with fire, as the dry grass can be highly flammable during this time.
Nutmeg Campground is ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in nature. Whether you're pitching a tent or parking your RV, this campground offers plenty of space and a peaceful atmosphere for a memorable outdoor experience.
Customer Feedback:
Good for kids
A spacious campground with plenty of room for tents. This campground is lush during the springtime, as everything is green. The area sits in a wide field, ringed by trees on one end. Nutmeg creek is a short distance away where you can take a dip in or try your hand at some angling. In the warmer months and especially in summer, it can get quite hot if you're not situated next to the copse of trees to the south of the campground. Be EXTREMELY careful of fire during this time as the dry grass is a tinder basket.
Big Creek Road takes you to Nutmeg Creek. This campground is after the Upper Big Creek Bridge, I was camping at Cat Head Campgrounds.
