Great spot. One of the only campgrounds in the area that you can reserve ahead of time. Shaded, mostly quiet. Paved roads, mostly level sites, but most are a little short or skinny (tow vehicle parking space was tight, but a wheel off the asphalt wasn't an issue). Bridge into camp is super fun if you like your family screaming and crying.

Outstanding USFS campground! Secluded campsites in a lush forest among old growth conifers. Some sites are more open but are right on the pristine Selway River. Amazingly, there were absolutely no mosquitos or biting flies in late June 2019. FYI: athough there are abundant potable water taps, the restrooms do not have running water or flush toilets.

Would be five stars except for the horribly smelling pit toilets and many overflowing dumpsters. What am I paying for? Sad.

If you want off the beaten path then this is it. No hook ups but does have access to water in designated areas. Very quiet and well spaced camp sites. The forest and river is your playground. Several restrooms.

The drive from Lolo MT to Lewiston, ID is beautiful. I wanted to stretch it out a bit so I had scoped a few possible campsites along the way. O'Hara bar is about 8 miles off hwy 12 along the Selway, and it met my requirements for isolation. There were several loops in this heavily wooded area along the river and I chose the last one, right next to the river. I was the only one there (it was a Tuesday night). There were other campers in the other loops, but they were far enough away (and through dense foliage) that I had no hint of their presence. A few other people drove though looking, but all the other sites on my loop were marked as reserved, though nobody ever arrived to claim them. I spent a very quiet afternoon reading and exploring the area, cooked my dinner, and turned in early. With the proximity to the peaceful Selway, this was a first class experience. I'd definitely look this one up if I'm through this way again.
