Oak Hollow Campground Introduce

Welcome to Oak Hollow Campground, an RV park located at 3415 N Centennial St, High Point, NC 27265, within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. You can contact them at (336) 883-3492 or +1 336-883-3492.

Oak Hollow Campground is situated by a lake and offers RV parking. However, customer reviews reveal important considerations for potential campers.

Key points from customer reviews:

  • Strict Check-in and Gate Restrictions: The campground enforces a 7:30 PM check-in deadline. Gates are locked at 7:30 PM, preventing entry and exit until 8:00 AM the following morning. This restriction can pose significant challenges for late arrivals or those attending evening events.
  • Water Hookup Limitations: The campground shares water sources between two sites, which can lead to inconvenience and potential tension between campers. Campers are advised to bring water splitter devices, as they are not provided.
  • Potential Logistical Issues: Customer reviews highlight instances where the strict gate closure policy resulted in lost reservations and the need for alternative accommodations.
  • Lakeside Location: The campground is described as a "Nice RV park on a lake" indicating a pleasant environment, when accessible.

While Oak Hollow Campground offers a lakeside setting, potential campers should be aware of the strict gate closure policy and the shared water hookup system. It is advised to carefully consider these factors before booking a stay. Campers should be aware of the 7:30pm gate lock. State parks are suggested as an alternative by a reviewer.

I wish I could speak on the amenities & views at the actual campground, however we never got to stay there. I booked this campground as a getaway for my husband and I for our 21st anniversary. I picked it because of it's fairly decent reviews & distance from the concert venue we were going to Sat night. However due to traffic and a major accident we were unable to make it Friday night before the 7:30pm check in requirements. Thankfully my husband remembered that rule before we drove an extra hour and a half to this campground that they had a no check-in after 7:30pm rule. However, what they don't tell you . . . gates are locked at 7:30pm so you cannot get in or out. Had we driven all the way there we would not have been able to get to our site anyway. So we had to scramble to find another place to stay at the very last minute. Luckily we were able to find a spot at a NC State Park near where we were stuck in the accident traffic, so I booked a night there. When I spoke to the staff at this campground I was told we could return at 8am the next morning when the gates would be unlocked & opened. Then my husband and I both realized that we still couldn't stay there because obviously a concert on Saturday night that has a 7pm start time would not get out in time for us to get back to our camper at 7:30pm before the lockdown. So not only did I lose my $90 that I paid for a site I couldn't logistically use, but I had to pay for another site so we had a place to park our camper and sleep. By the way this notation on the site "Campers must register in the office by 7:30 p.m. Late check-in is not permitted" doesn't give the full story. If you are fine getting locked in a campground from 7:30pm until 8am the next morning then this is the place for you. If that doesn't seem like a good idea to you then there are plenty of beautiful state parks in NC with camping that don't shut gates and lock you in. I'd suggest going there first. We normally only camp at State Parks and this is why. I won't make that mistake again.

Nice RV park on a lake. My only complaint is that they make two spots share one water source which means sometimes it's not conveniently or closely placed. And some people don't understand this which can cause tension. Especially since they don't provide splitters. If you don't bring one then you don't get to hook up to water or you have to connect and disconnect with your neighbors.

Stayed here for the 21-day maximum stay while doing a seminar in High Point. The park was extremely close to shopping, and High Point University. This park was quiet, easy to set up, and great for a long-term stay. The park was basic and didn’t have many amenities, but they do offer full hookups and WiFi. There were a few times the park’s electric went out, but the park called us to let us know so we could take care of our pets that was back in the camper. The park does have a playground for kids, and a nice pavilion to sit at. The only downside to our stay was the fact that the park’s laundry is a washer and dryer that sits out by the bathhouse. We used it one time, but unfortunately almost every time after the washer was loaded with pet hair and unusable for my family’s laundry. Overall, our stay was nice and we had no issues.

We went tent camping. The platforms are 15ft x15ft. It was more than enough space for a ten person tent and a sitting area in the back. The view by the water was beautiful. I was worried about bugs but there were very few. A little skin so soft was all we needed. My sister and her family were 1st timers and they really enjoyed being able to fish and go to the pool and have a comfortable camping experience. The price is worth it for the location alone. If you need a quick, cheap, peaceful getaway I would suggest this campground. We didn't really have any interaction with the staff but we did see them ride around with the carts if you need help

This campground has become one of our favorites. The staff is friendly and helpful; the location is perfect for shopping, etc. It's clean and affordable!! We've met some great people camping here as well.

The only reason not 5 stars is because of their policy of only being able to stay 21 days then having to leave for 10. Otherwise we absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful location, clean bathhouses, reasonably priced general store, friendly staff and felt very safe. Will definitely recommend to others and will go back next time we want to camp.

We love it when we come through this way, lake views, spacious sites, a lil store, tennis courts and 2 bath houses, one was just redone completely. NOT A COMPLAINT, IT'S JUST NATURE but Please please be wary of cotton mouth snakes that lay on the rocks by water's edge sunning themselves. We saw 6 or 7 in a 20 ft span by the edge. Please be careful with pets and small children.

There are no rooms but plenty of camp sites. My friends had a spot right on the water, where they could fish right from their tent if they wanted to. They have a big building where you can shower and use the bathroom. The playground isn't very good, but they do have an in ground pool. Lots of areas for trailers and their big trucks. Several camp sites have electric and for 30.00 a night you can't complain.

Oak Hollow has different areas to enjoy!! I walked through the campground once. The Oak Hollow Lake area is a very large area to enjoy the lake: fireworks, concerts, boating, fishing, picnicking and just hanging out for reading and solitude.
