Oak Hollow Campground Introduce
Nestled in the heart of Arnold, California, Oak Hollow Campground offers a serene escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. This campground is a perfect blend of privacy and convenience, making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding natural beauty. Whether you're pitching a tent or parking your RV, Oak Hollow provides a shaded, tranquil environment that ensures a comfortable stay.
The campground is well-maintained, with clean restrooms, showers, and ample space for tents and RVs. Site #111 is particularly popular for its spaciousness and privacy, making it a favorite among campers. The camp host is available to provide shower tokens and firewood, though it's recommended to grab these essentials at the entrance to ensure you're fully prepared for your stay.
While Oak Hollow Campground itself is a quiet retreat, it's conveniently located near several attractions. Lake Alpine, just a short drive away, is perfect for kayaking and swimming. The Stanislaus River and Beaver Creek offer scenic spots for wading and picnicking, though the river's swift currents make it more suitable for viewing than swimming. The North Grove trail is another nearby highlight, offering a peaceful walk through majestic trees.
Here’s what some of our satisfied campers have to say:
- "We loved camping here and would come here again. This campground is more remote and private compared to the North Grove area."
- "Site #111 was huge! Plenty of room for our 2 tents. We were back from the road and there was space between our site and the neighboring sites, so felt very private."
- "Everything was clean and well taken care of. Our campsite OH95 was great except there were yellow jackets. I would return but a different spot."
Oak Hollow Campground is more than just a place to stay—it's a gateway to adventure and relaxation. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or an extended stay, this campground offers the perfect setting for creating lasting memories in the great outdoors.

We loved camping here and would come here again. This campground is more remote and private compared to the North Grove area. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because there isn't much to do right at the campground, but it is a great base point to drive to nearby places. We stayed for three nights during the week in late July. It was hot, but tolerable. The campground is very shady. I highly recommend site #111. It was huge! Plenty of room for our 2 tents. We were back from the road and there was space between our site and the neighboring sites, so felt very private. It was near one of the restrooms and a short walk to the showers and camp host. We were able to get shower tokens and firewood from the camp host, but she isn't always there, so you might want to get these at the entrance area on your way in. The first full day we drove up to Lake Alpine to kayak and swim. The second full day we visited the Stanislaus River day use area, Beaver Creek near the South Grove, and walked the North Grove trail. The river is too high and swift for swimming, but pretty to look at. We spent more time at Beaver Creek. There is a nice spot near the bridge for wading. The rocks are slippery, so I recommend water shoes.
Everything was clean and well taken care of. Our campsite OH95 was great except there were yellow jackets. I would return but a different spot
Beautiful, spacious campsite. Was on a little bit of a slope, but manageable. Unfortunately, despite there being a camp host, the rules weren't enforced. A large group with several cars was next to us, with loud music and screeching laughter past 3 am. I even asked politely after midnight if they could tone it down a little because it was keeping our small kids up, but no one cared. Miserable and tired the next day.
We had a great time at Oak Hollow. Big Trees is one of my favorite state parks. The campsite was nice. It was a great family atmosphere for my family to camp with my little kids. The bathrooms were clean and there are showers which was really nice. You need quarters for the showers.
This place was very beautiful. So much green everywhere. The air was so fresh and the breeze felt amazing. There was little camp sites everywhere and bathrooms with showers. I hiked several miles while I was there. Got lost trying to find the river but all in all it was a great experience. I'm glad I didn't see any bears though, but there was a deer right in front of me when I was walking through the trees. I would recommend this place! It cost $70 for two nights and for an extra car $20. They also sell firewood there so you can bbq or just make a fire in the pit and they have activities they do with the community within the camping site everyday at certain times. It's cool, I didn't do any of the activities because I just wanted to explore on my own.
