Oak Lake RV Resort presents a mixed picture based on customer reviews. The campground is known for its strong sense of community and family-friendly atmosphere, making it a popular choice for vacations and celebrations. Visitors appreciate the hospitality of both the patrons and the staff, creating a welcoming environment, especially for those with special needs. The grounds are well-maintained, including the bathrooms, and there are activities to keep children entertained. The on-site store is well-stocked, and the yurt accommodations are clean and comfortable. However, there are concerns regarding the management, particularly during the winter months. The gated access system, while intended for security, has caused inconvenience for some guests, especially those on work trips. Reports of communication issues between winter management and owners, as well as inconsistencies in information provided by staff, have been noted. The campground appears to be more suitable for family vacations and weekend getaways, where the community atmosphere and recreational activities can be fully enjoyed. Potential visitors should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding management and consider their specific needs and expectations.
Here are some key features and considerations:
- Community Atmosphere: Strong sense of community and hospitality.
- Family-Friendly: Activities and amenities suitable for families with children.
- Yurt Camping: Clean and comfortable yurt accommodations.
- Gated Access: Gated entry with a card system for security.
- Mixed Management Reviews: Inconsistencies and communication issues reported, especially in winter.

- Location: Situated in Fair Oaks, IN, providing a community-oriented camping experience.
Oak Lake RV Resort offers a welcoming and family-friendly environment with a strong sense of community. However, potential visitors should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding management, particularly during the winter months. If you are looking for a community-oriented campground for a family vacation, Oak Lake RV Resort may be a suitable option. But if you require consistent and reliable management, especially for work trips, you may want to consider these reviews.

This trip was a mess for me, I will put it out there first. We went to start work in the area and ended up not having much work they were very understanding on that behalf and helped with the payment in order to get in and stay, speaking of getting in; it is a gated campground! Huge waist of time going in and out and keeping track of the card (they will charge you for not returning at the end of the visit, and none of the residents are willing to help you get in if you forgot/ misplaced your card; as much as I felt safer that way knowing not everyone is getting let in I had proof and they still denied to let me in! Just a huge inconvenience!) the workers are all very friendly and active throughout the park but not very helpful at all! Very ignorant as well and Delayed on timing. The workers were all there for winter management do not have any communication with the owners and that never leads to a business being ran correctly (from my experience). I would be told one thing from one worker and something different from the other. I’m sure the park is wonderful in the summer for a cute trip with the family but I definitely don’t recommend it from my experience for a business trip! Edit: As to the reply: Security is not a must I don’t know any place that it is mandatory (across nation wide), I was only given 1 card even when I asked for a duplicate. As well as the phone number management on both ends were not answering at the time. Not saying it was a terrible visit but definitely far from being the best. I have been traveling for a long time now staying at multiple campgrounds moving around consistently and I wouldn’t suggest your business operation for a work trip is all I was saying. I’m sure in the summer time when the owners are around and if you had a family and friends it would be a decent stay. Thank you for your service tho and allowing our stay for our visit in the area.
This was our second time returning to Oak Lake to celebrate our daughter's 4th birthday. We stayed last weekend and were able to use a gazebo for her party. I cannot say enough good things about Oak Lake. What sets Oak Lake apart from the rest is absolutely the hospitality of the patrons as well as the staff. There is a wonderful sense of community (which is very important to us as we also travel with our special needs son) and they are very welcoming to overnight guests as well. The grounds are well taken care of including the bathrooms, there are activities to keep the children active, the store is well stocked, the yurt was very clean and again.....the staff is just top notch! Our neighbors who were camping next to us at yurt 2 were also super friendly so that was a plus! We had a fantastic time, can't wait for birthday number 5!
Our families love this place. It's close to home but feels like a true getaway. The hosts are gracious and accommodating. Our grandchildren have so much fun, they don't want to leave ! Thank you Oak Lake RV Resort. See you soon
We just stayed for the 4th time this season as this RV resort. It is hands down our most favorite place to camp! From the sites, to the staff (and amazing management), the activities, the family-like atmosphere, it’s just the best. My son also agrees it’s his favorite campground and that his favorite person there is Tim 😊. (My son would like to add that the glow rides are the absolute best thing ever!) We are even hoping to get ourselves a seasonal site here for the 2025 camping season it’s THAT good! 😉. The staff is always going above and beyond for all campers, and there are ALWAYS fun activities for kids and adults every time we’ve been there! This weekend was our last camping trip of the season and we’re so sad it’s come to an end. Can’t wait to have so many more family memories and laughs at Oak Lake!
This campground was the first time we went here since our friends have been going there and we had a good time. This campground is VERY kid friendly which is a plus for us with events usually happening frequently. However, the lot sizes are very tight and narrow. They are an extremely strict with rules and out patrolling constantly. They will nickel and dime you with everything which is why I’m giving 4 stars. No early or late check out without charging you $25. Even if no one is at the spot prior they won’t let you in an hour early without charging. This is a downfall especially if people are traveling far to come there. Overall worth a shot going if you have kids.
