This introduction will delve into the detailed aspects of the campground, ensuring local users have a comprehensive understanding of what awaits them.

The Environment: A Natural Oasis

Oak Ridge Campground is nestled within the largest Piedmont forest ecosystem in the National Park Service, boasting approximately 15,000 acres of protected land. Very nice campground. Definitely more laid back and quieter and secluded than the Lakeview campground. The sites are mostly private and shaded. The upper loop is closer to the bathrooms and more spread out. Some of the lower loop electric sight look to be close to he road and part sun.

You have 4 cabins at the state park. The one we used, named LOOM can sleep 5. There is electricity and heating. The outhouse was right there. There was some issues with the spigot nearby. The cabins are in a fairly quiet part of the park.

We had a lovely stay at the Oak Ridge Campground in Sibley State Park this week. Site 83 was incredible- you have about 3x the space of a regular size spot and it’s private and so fun for our kids to explore. I also have to mention the lack of mosquitoes. It was so pleasant to not be totally annoyed by them. (They were present but much better than most places). Overall the park was great for small children. We did a few short easy hikes, played on the tower and enjoyed the beach. We will definitely return and recommend to our friends and family.
