Introduction / Overview: A Peaceful Retreat on the Shores of Lake Eufaula
For Oklahoma outdoor enthusiasts who prefer a smaller, more intimate camping experience with direct lake access, the Oak Ridge Recreation Area is a hidden gem. Located just south of the city of Eufaula, this U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) site offers a perfect blend of convenience and classic lakeside recreation on the massive Lake Eufaula.
Oak Ridge is known for its stunning water views and its location right on a productive fishing cove. As a smaller park, it generally provides a quieter, more personal atmosphere than some of the larger campgrounds on the lake. It caters to both RV owners and primitive tent campers, offering essential amenities without the bustle of a major recreational hub.
Visitors are consistently impressed by the natural beauty and the quality of the lake access. One customer review simply noted, "All we did was stop and look at the water. It was beautiful. Seemed like it'd be an amazing place to spend some time." Whether you are looking to cast a line, launch your boat, or simply enjoy a quiet Oklahoma sunset, Oak Ridge Recreation Area provides a lovely, clean environment to do so. The close proximity to the city of Eufaula also ensures that great local restaurants and attractions are never far away.

Customer Reviews
The fishing is always great here in the cove, overall clean, there is a boat ramp, restroom, dock, primitive camping and RV camping areas as well. Close to many great restaurants and other places of interest around lake Eufaula.
All we did was stop and look at the water. It was beautiful. Seemed like it'd be an amazing place to spend some time.
Decent camp ground ok swimming area
We broke down here with 3 kids. Hours from home so we had to wait for hours to get rescued. It was unbelievably hot. We were not prepared at all. We only had hot soda. The park ranger stopped and gave us water. Which we desperately needed. Even gave the kids sunglasses and a frisby. The hosts we're very sweet and brought us ice cold water and offered us a meal but our ride had shown up. This will be my very next camping spot. It was beautiful! And very friendly staff!
Right off 69. Super easy to get to and find. Small and quiet good place for trailer or tent on the south side. Facilities are not the greatest. Boat ramp is in a calm cove for launching and loading there is a fee to use the ramp. Be sure to follow south bank out and around is very shallow straight east. . .3 to five feet. Less when the water is low so stay in the creek channel. American cabins are right there also.
