Ocala Sun RV Resort

I agree with the last posted that the pictures make this look better than it is. Don't get me wrong. It is a decent place - but not a resort. The lot areas are clean and they pick up trash at site daily (nice touch). It was quiet at night. However, the pool was way to small for the size of the place. When we arrived, we asked for a site with some privacy since they were not full. So, they moved us to a spot right next to a family who had dirt bikes (and associated maintenance items) all over their lot. Did I mention that there were plenty of empty spots in our row where we could have been placed? Not our best experience.

Unfortunately I have to give a negative review. We’ve stayed at a few Sun RV Resorts, and never had any problems. But when we arrived at this one, I immediately noticed it didn’t look like the website photos. They also told us we would have to unhook our Jeep. We were just there for one night. They told us the wrong way to our spot, they didn’t have anyone to escort us to spot. We are 41’ long pulling a Jeep, and were basically stuck where we were told to turn. Then the maintenance guy came out to direct us in his golf cart. Unfortunately he took us on two tight turns, and under a tree that needed trimmed, and we heard scratching by the limbs. Had to go through wet mud as well. We were obviously upset, after driving all day. The manager came out to apologize. The campground has overgrown trees, sharp turns and street signs are placed right on corners where you need to turn. Once we were settled, I walked around, and 2 roads over from us is where all the big rigs like ours were parked. Huge paved spots, no trees, and no need to unhook. It’s hard for me to understand why knowing our size and that we were pulling a jeep and staying one night they wouldn’t have just put us in one of these spots in the first place. Keeping in mind, I called to make this reservation. I did not do it online so I spoke to them and they knew our size and we needed a pull through spot and that we were pulling a jeep for a one night stay. We were greatly disappointed and will not be coming back to this campground. I gave two stars instead of one because the manager refunded our hold the spot fee of $35 but we still paid for the spot for the night. She was very apologetic, but it was still not a good experience.

We stayed at this campground when our truck broke down on our trip. It was closest to the rest area so we had no idea what to expect when we pulled in. What a pleasant surprise! So much room for the kids to ride bikes. We had fun playing pickleball. The dog park had a raised tub and platform for bathing and grooming your dog. The sweet staff gave us suggestions of activities since we were stuck waiting on our truck and even let us have a late check out once our vehicle was ready. We didn’t attend, but they had a Christmas dinner for the guests which I thought was such a nice little extra. I would definitely stay here again!

I had a fantastic experience at the Sun RV Resort in Ocala! From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed by the staff and other guests. The environment is super clean, well-maintained, and perfect for those looking to relax and enjoy their stay. The facilities are excellent and offer everything you need for a comfortable stay with your RV. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a friendly and pleasant spot to stay in Ocala. I’ll definitely be back!

We have been coming to Ocala Sun for 5 years now, 2 years ago bought a park model and love it. Ocala Sun is top notch and has everything you need right their. Have nothing bad to say about anyone or anything with Ocala Sun. The beauty is all around from the park to all the nearby springs, restaurants, shopping etc. You will definitely not be disappointed.
