It was okay! I loved that it was on the beach, great location, and really like that it accepted some dogs. However, we continued to have problems out of our bathroom. Our toiled continued to run and having trouble flushing at times. The shower was fine as far as water pressure and cleanliness, however it was very very slow to drain. We would have quite a bit of water in the bottom of the tub while taking a shower. We had someone come look at it, and it was “fixed” for about an hour. The kitchen was nice. The staff were friendly. Overall it was clean, there was a few places that could use maybe some deeper cleaning or a re-model. But overall it was okay!
It was fine for a mid grade hotel. The view was great, and I loved that I could walk right onto the beach. The pools/hot tubs were great, too. I had to take a star off bc I was never able to get hot water in my shower! Probably not a big deal typically, but in January, it is. I also had some issues with the keypad, but the offsite and on-site concierge were very quick to respond/help.
We were so excited to find a place that allows pets. If you love dogs, this is the place to be. Furology is great. They took care of our 17 year old Maltipoo nail trim with such gentleness. Our room was clean, had a great view, near the lobby. The elevator was quick to call. There were 2 hot tubs, 1 in with a kiddie pool, and heated pool. There is a large hot tub outside on one side and pool on the other side. Access to the beach was an easy walk. We will definitely stay here again.
The door codes are insane. The pool locks, a five digit code, keeps anyone in the pool out of the bathroom area not the pool area. The bathroom has an additional four digit lock code. The code to our room was 10 digits that worked randomly. After talking to others we found we were not the only ones with this issue of randomly working. The pool closes at 11 pm but one night I took my dog out at 3 am and people were in there. The next night when we were asked to leave the pool area I asked if we could get the same privileges, Paul Blart security resort cop made me out to be crazy as if I didn’t hear music, people talking, or lights on at 3 am. There’s no life guards so I’m not entirely sure what the purpose of closing the pool is. Also the outdoor hot tub was out of order which was a bummer since the indoor pool area was the only option.
I don’t ever leave bad reviews on things but I just wanted to share… The very first time we stayed at this resort, someone tried to come into our room in the middle of the night. (Someone from the front desk) just to find out that they were in the wrong room. Then… Last Sunday we left town..me, my husband, my two kids and our dog. We had reservations at Ocean Park Resort in North Myrtle Beach. Specifically because it’s a PET FRIENDLY resort… we have stayed here before with our dog and have had a pleasant experience with this resort. We travel the 2 hours to get there..like I stated before the 5 of us, packed for a week. When we try to check in, they deny us because of our pet. (Whom had stayed with us at this resort before) they said he was an aggressive breed. (He is afraid of his own shadow. He wouldn’t hurt a fly) We have never had any issues checking in with him before. I understand policies and rules, however, they were not very understanding or polite. Next time, I’ll stay home before I stay at Ocean Park Resort.
