My son and I stayed here about three weeks waiting for our home to be finished and I'm absolutely thrilled we stumbled upon this motel. The weekly rate was super affordable and the room was big and felt like an apartment. The cameras made me feel safe to walk around at night and the location near the beach was wonderful. Having this place during a transition period was incredible. Oh and they had a huge adorable bathtub
Convenient location to the beach and Jenny's Giant Burgers a short walk from the hotel. Parking is plentiful and free. Some concerns: 1) The towels were dirty. Hair and dirty spots on them. 2) The windows, I discovered, were all unlocked but closed. I realized they were unlocked when it was raining into one of the windows and onto the floor where a baseboard heater was located. The baseboard heater was in standing water. 3) Please get rid of the outdated, 1970s STD brown comforters. Modern bedding options offer a much cleaner look and comfort for your guests. Brown comforters hide stains, unfortunately for your guests. 4) While breakfast was available, it was mainly waffles, some cereal, and a few beverage options. I probably would not stay here again if in the area.
Just don't book this place. If I'd had a choice besides canceling my vacation altogether I would've walked right out. I called around looking for other accommodations but couldn't afford the places with vacancies. No working smoke detector. No safety lock/chain on the door. Mold on bathroom ceiling. Bathroom lights flickered as if the circuit was overloaded. TV turned on but couldn't be switched out of media input. Huge gap around door let in cold air which the single baseboard heater couldn't handle-glad I had a spare blanket in my car as there was none in the room and the bed linens were better suited for August than February. "White" towels were almost grey. Altho it looks like a cute place in the pictures, this property needs a lot of work.
Pros: - Location is great. Short walk to glass beach and to downtown area. - Plenty of free parking. Able to park right next to our room. Cons: - Room was dated and dirty. The paint was peeling and there were wires everywhere connecting the TV to the cable box. The rooms also don't keep out noise from the street, parking area or fire station next door. Fortunately, the nights were fairly quiet. Baseboard heaters took a long time to heat the room. There is a ceiling fan, but no A/C in the rooms. - Staff wasn't very friendly and didn't want to be bothered when checking in or out. - Breakfast was limited and very basic. There's a refrigerator with juice, milk and fruit. Hot coffee with powdered creamer. Plastic containers of dry cereal, a waffle maker with waffle batter, and simple granola bars.
Our room smelled and felt very clean! The bath and shower were hot and it was perfect for our stay. We needed something affordable while driving through and this was everything we needed. Very simple, but also very spacious.
