Beautiful are for a hike
It's not much water, more like a puddle. It's still beautiful & I'm hoping the water comes back.
Great place for boating and water skiing, no day use area for swimming but you can find a couple spots to swim from.
Beautiful and peaceful.
The water is a bit iffy
Ochoco Reservoir, located just east of Prineville, Oregon, is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a peaceful retreat. Surrounded by the rolling hills of the Ochoco Mountains, the reservoir offers a scenic and relatively uncrowded spot for fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming. The water level can vary depending on the season, but when full, it creates a beautiful, expansive lake perfect for a relaxed day on the water. Anglers will appreciate the stocked trout and warm-water species like bass and crappie. The reservoir is also adjacent to Ochoco Lake State Park, which features a well-maintained campground with sites for tents and RVs, complete with clean restrooms and showers. Shade trees, grassy areas, and picnic tables make it family-friendly and comfortable during the summer months. It’s a quieter alternative to more crowded Central Oregon lakes, offering a more rustic and intimate experience. The nearby Ochoco National Forest provides additional opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring.
