Beautiful state park with cleared trails. Not much damage left after Helene, however still keep a good watch on your surroundings as dress could uproot with soft land and high winds, or branches from tops of trees.
This campground is my new favorite state park in South Carolina. The park is absolutely beautiful, and the staff is very friendly. The only complaint is the bath houses. They are old feeling, and are in desperate need of remodeling.
We've been visiting at least once a year for the past fifteen years. The wifi/Internet and the 55" TV was a great improvement for rainy days.
Best park in the state; you could spend hours or weeks and not get bored. Wildlife is no joke, tie down your trash if you stay. Otherwise this is well managed and the kids love it. The playground is amazing and so is the canoe area that you can rent. Cabins are awesome to rent and RV area has all the hookups!
Very nice large state park. We camp here fairly regularly. The facilities are generally kept in good shape. The swimming hole is nice and mostly sandy. The fishing lakes are cool, although not the most productive. This place is rarely crowded, except holidays. This is a great place to launch other adventures at nearby attractions. It is one of the more affordable parks.
