Oh Be Joyful was truly "joyful"! Right on the river, I listened to it all night. I camped here while mountain biking in Crested Butte and loved it.
One of my favorite spots in Colorado. Reserving a campsite gives you better access, but it can be busy. Slate riverbed, hiking, horseback riding, and ATV trails. Huge area with tons to explore, especially beautiful in the fall. Open car camping sites in the back fill up quickly. Each site has a metal fire pit. A great place to visit or camp – I highly recommend Oh Be Joyful for relaxed camping and spectacular views.
Gorgeous area for camping and hiking! Loved camping by the river and had a fantastic hike. Pit toilets were decent, and the bear containers were appreciated. Sites had decent privacy. My only complaint is the road down – dirt/gravel with rocks and potholes. I had a sketchy moment in my Outback, but I also saw a minivan at the trailhead, so maybe it was just me.
Beautiful campground! Great base camp for mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, and only 15 minutes from town. We stayed a couple of nights and can't wait to go back!
We loved Oh Be Joyful! We stayed 7 nights, and it became one of our top campsites! Site 7 was great – tucked away from other campers and RVs, with easy river access. For $10/night, it's unbeatable! The 2-week reservation worked out perfectly when our other plans fell through. We'd tried to camp here before, but it was full, so we were glad to finally experience it. Our site was big enough for our large tent, and the bear-safe was incredible! We'd love to return!
