I absolutely love this National Park. There is so much recreation to be had. Whether it is 2 wheels, 4 wheels, 2 legs, or 4 legged, you will find plenty to do. All outdoor recreation permitted, just leave it better than you found it is our motto.
It had rained yesterday and the trail was moist but not muddy. It was cool under the trees. Lots of butterflies over the blooming flowers. My younger companions compared the forest with a castle, because of the tall big trees and the shades. It is magical. Definitely bring bug spray. Lots of mosquitoes.
If you’re looking for a massive and diverse outdoor adventure, Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is a must-visit. Spanning over 4 million acres, this place has everything from snow-capped peaks to dense evergreen forests and crystal-clear rivers. Whether you’re into hiking, camping, fishing, or just driving through for some awe inspiring views, there’s something for everyone. The scenic byways alone make for an unforgettable road trip, with spots to pull over and take in the sights. The Enchantments area is one of the biggest draws for hikers, offering incredible alpine scenery that feels like something out of a fantasy novel. Plan well in advance if you want to explore and make sure you read up on the regulations. For a more laid-back experience, there are plenty of accessible lakes and rivers for fishing or just chilling. Wildlife is everywhere! expect to see deer, elk, bald eagles, and maybe even a bear or two if you’re lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you feel about that :) ). The forest is also stunning in every season, with fall colors, winter snowshoeing, spring wildflowers, and summer sunshine.
