My hubby and I are on our way home after staying here for a week. We planned this trip last minute and needed a place to stay for our fishing trip to Lake Oahe. The lake access was nice and had plenty of parking. Fishing was good. The cabin we stayed in was small and although it had sleeping accommodations for 4 people, I can't imagine actually having 4 people there. The owner was very nice and she checked in with us regularly. She provided a "cornhole" game for us, provided a couple bags of ice and freezer packs too when we ran out as there was no place close by to get forgotten items. I would recommend this place to a couple guys or those willing to "rough it" more than my liking, lol. The restaurant/bar wasn't really open or staffed, but Sheena was willing to pour us drinks if we wanted them. My 3 star rating is meant to say it was average. It was nothing special, but also not terrible.

Allen and Sheena were incredibly friendly and helpful, having basically everything we forgot on hand. :) the cabins are adorable with a full bed and twin bunk beds, with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The best part was that each cabin has its own bathroom, so no sharing showers or waking up in the middle of the night to walk outside to the bathroom! Would've been nice to have WiFi and maybe some fly paper up to collect some of the bugs, but would definitely stay there again!

If you plan on fishing here I suppose it would be okay, although I could could hardly see the lake??? Advertised as a resort in Pierre, when in actuality, it is 28 miles north of Pierre turning into a dirt road with very poor markings as to where to turn. The "restaurant" leaves a lot to be desired. As a non smoker I found this place horrible. Large mat outside says thank you for not smoking. Inside everyone was smoking and 4 dogs. I guess South Dakota has no smoking ban and allows dogs in an eating establishment, but where I am from it is not ALLOWED. Wi-fi not working.

We stayed here on a trip for my sisters wedding. We absolutely loved it. Yeah, it's a little out of the way. Yeah, you have to travel a dirt road to get there. But what would a resort be if it wasn't out in the middle of nowhere. If I wanted to stay in a hotel, I would have stayed 28 miles down the road. The owners are fantastic people and were very accommodating. Thanks for a great experience. We look forward to coming back.
