I loooove this place! We go to see my brother play with an awesome band, Made In Texas Band... And we drive from Fort Worth to do so! Didn't enjoy the food, a little high priced too. But the drinks and prices are fabulous
Spent the day on the river with my wife and little girl... never have I ever been so disrespected by the owner himself. My family and I were looking forward to spending the weekend at what we thought was one of the best places to stay on the river but because the color of our skin we were told to leave the property and told we were trespassing. God bless this man I thought some people were different but I guess not it's so sad that my 4 year old little girl asked me what was wrong with the color of our skin and why we had to leave.
My two, always hungry, meat eating teenage boys who eat everything and anything Did not like the briskit sandwiches. At all! On the flip side, I had the fajitas and they were Fantastic. A little salsa would have been nice though.
This was a last minute plan for us. As most of you may know that during the summer there is a 2 night minimum for most campsites at the river (which is understandable). However my husband and I wanted to go to the river but didn't have 2 nights to take off from work. We called Kane's Ol'River Hideaway and got the answering machine, my husband left a message without really thinking we would get a call back since it was summer time and we were trying to go the very next day (a Saturday) and spend the night till Sunday. Kim was kind enough to call us back early Saturday morning giving us time to get up there and enjoy the day! She was so accommodating to us and seemed to really love her job. We absolutely loved it and the flow on the river couldn't have been more perfect! Thank you Kim and staff you rock! We hope to be back soon for a longer stay.
It is a 5 star place if you like a basic campground with some fun. Motorhome It is a bit tight and low trees. It could be for some a 4 or 3 star because of the of showers, you have to pay for them. Maybe they will come up with a token idea for the camping guest. But not such a problem to bring down any lower. The people a great. They have a bar/grill kids are welcomed with a volleyball court. Food was good closes early on Sunday, went at 8:20 and they had stopped taking to go orders. Bummed about that. Now on a Saturday evening they close at 10 but kept the music going until 12:30 on a normal Saturday no problem, we were in town for a seminar and wanted to be asleep a little before then. Music wasn't bad though so it you do not want to hear it and are small enough to be in a lot away from It, I suggest you do so. But not bad. Great if you have dogs. They are dog friendly so bring them, if they are good on a leash. No dog park but most of the area didn't allow dogs? Part of having a motorhome is so we can travel with them. Just same rules as always pick it up. Now if you are a big motor home and have a large trailer let Kim know ahead of time so she can be ready for you. It is very, very tight and a lot of low trees, so you have to be a skilled driver. However, they were the nicest folks around. We came in late so we just pulled in where we could then had the heart attack or moving the tall trailer we had into a spot in the morning. She allowed us to park where we thought was best and we actually moved twice. Now they are not on the river but have a nice access across the street which was nice. Ps tight roads all the way down river road with some low trees. And I was never harrased or bothered. I do not know how anyone said they were harassed.
