A hidden gem in Blue River, Oregon! My husband and I wanted to book a campsite near the Tamolitch Falls (Blue Pool) and Clear Lake for a weekend. I stumbled on this campground when looking at a map. I booked site #14 four months ahead, but once we got there, we noticed a few open spots that eventually turned into "First Come, First Served" sites if it hasn't been reserved online. Site #14 is part of the lower sites, which meant that we were sleeping right next to the McKenzie River. We were grateful for the sounds of the river masking the sounds of the adjacent highway. Our campsite was equipped with a PICNIC TABLE and a FIRE RING. The VAULT TOILETS (no sink), WATER PUMP, and TRASH BINS were nearby. I noticed that they replenished the toilet paper and cleaned the toilets every morning. There were also plenty of trees to hang up a hammock! Overall, we loved our stay! We will definitely be back!

On my way back to Central Oregon from Springfield, a necessary stop was in order. The campground was covered in a fresh coating of snow & it was a peaceful scene. This is a great location & one that I would stay at in good weather. It is a primitive type campground, so it is to be taken into consideration

We stayed here mid-week and it was so quiet! The campground was clean and the bathroom was maintained well. The river was next to us at site 8 and 9 and it was beautiful to listen to at all times. I would give it 5 stars, but it was the dustiest place I've stayed. Just walking filled the air with dust.

$48 for two nights. reservation done via recreation website. sits at 2k elevation. upper level and lower level. site 10 shares inital driveway with site 9 and then separates. plenty of room for a tent. picnic table and fire pit provided. vault toilets. no water. there are a couple pull thru sites on upper level. day use spot. campground host onsite. $7 for a bundle of wood or four bundles for $25. noise of Olallie River drowns out road traffic and is soothing. Lower level is on McKenzie River and Olallie River flows into it. Plenty of tree cover at all the sites.

A very peaceful campground. The lower level is the best as it is closest to the river and farthest from the road. There is only one water pump in the campground, so bring a large jug to store your water. At night, the road is hardly busy and doesn’t cause that much of a disturbance. Most sites seemed pretty spacious. My site had room for four tents, two of which were fairly large. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely go again.
